And you do need to understand a person's preferences to know (some of) their contributions. Students wouldn't appreciate the significance of the gay liberation movement if they don't understand that the campaigners were fighting for their own rights? It would be like trying to teach the civil rights movement without referencing race, because "you don't need to know someone's race to know their contributions."
Sexual activity is not the same as race. Comparing the "gay movement" to things like the black civil rights movement is sad and emotional rhetoric.

What's sad is that people like you were the same ones opposing the civil rights movement.
Way to miss the point, though.

Its adorable to watch some get all worked up because LDS indoctrinate their kids with their beliefs, as if that's somehow bad, and then to see the LDS pro-prop 8 get all worked up because the anti-prop 8 folks wish to indictrinate a bit themselves, if indoctrinatin' is the correct way to view it anyway.
Sometimes its fun to find oneself somewhere in the middle of these two silly extremes.

I ain't nuttin'. don't get all worked up on account of me.

Emphasis mine.
Except that you're really not "somewhere in the middle," Stem, even though you seem to think you are.

I was just playin', Morley. But, rest assured, i appreciate the effort to put me in my place anyway--a good reminder what people are thinking here.
I'm not putting you in your place. You do, however, seem to have the self-image of the reasonable, long-suffering moderate. Your positions belie any claim to that title, as does your habitual rejoinder of "I was just playin'" when called on any of it.

Okay, Morely. I'll just mark you down as one who doesn't like my posts. I'm not sure where you're going with this, but it doesn't matter. I've said what I've wished to say.

LOL, this stuff is classic. You strut around, ignoring real debate, instead, ranting how ignorant and stupid I am, but then have the balls to jump up and proudly point at my "internet-brag".
Stay classy there slick.

I enjoy your posts, Stem. However, sometimes I think that your let's-all-just-get-along attitude interferes with your intellectual honesty.

Could you show me an anti-gay education bill pushed my our side?
I am sure you can show me one that insured students were taught in Sexual Education that homosexuality is a perversion.

Well then, we must agree to disagree for the sake of going far too deep on this topic and thereby crushing any semblance of intellectual honesty I might presume to uphold.
