blemnuts..., all it will take is posting the wrong image and pissing off the wrong copyright owner. A religious hate site won't get much sympathy when l-dsinc, IRI or Deseret News - all associated with the sappy & sugary PR campaigns starts splashing the hate posts across the news.

You know that is what will happen and I believe you deliberately push this to hasten the chance to shut the site down. You will be happy when the real identities of those who post here come out in discovery and they are subject to court subpoenas, depositions and legal action.

Face it, this site is the moral equivalent of the KKK in the eyes of many l-dsinc members and leaders. YOU have made that clear and now lobby to do actions sure to shut this place down. We know where you stand boy.

Hey Shades, why so shy?

When life consists of double shifts, minimal sleep, and limited access, the rest of us get to learn patience.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Well, he's commented on other things. Unless I missed it, it seems he has yet to comment publicly on this issue.

Now that I realize Joseph is absolutely powerless, and the worst he can do, if he has a free lawyer, is to pull a SeattleGhostWriter, I don't care at all if he's banned or not. I only wanted him banned to protect the board. I no longer believe the board needs protection from him. I put him on ignore weeks ago, and that's where he'll stay.

Now I just want Shades to reinstate images. There is absolutely no reason I can see to listen to Joseph at all regarding this issue. He's trying to play cop when he doesn't even understand the law. Annoying, yes, but ignore is a wonderful function.

I don't even hear the buzzing of a faint mosquito when Joseph posts. I hear nothing but silence, wonderful silence.

The trouble is, even with him on ignore you can still see the stupid threads he starts.

Eh, I don't mind, as long as there's a big fat ZERO under replies.

I fully support the call to ban Joseph. The vigilante-style protection of others' intellectual property on such a petty and inconsequential level is moronic. Ban Joseph.

Most fair use situations involve text. It is difficult to imagine any situation involving the Internet where someone copying a photo could claim the fair use defense. In typical infringement activities, such as unauthorized posting to Usenet, stocking websites from Usenet trolling, scanning from Playboy magazine, or simply copying from other websites-the fair use doctrine does not apply. Because the pirate is taking 100% of the work, not acknowledging the creator, hurting the work's market value, competing directly with the creator or licensed users of the work, and for other reasons.

So if you are a photo pirate, do not even think about the fair use doctrine. In your context it is a myth. Your lawyer will laugh at you, and the judge might not have a sense of humor where thievery is concerned.
