Is Hoops male or female?

I've been trying for years to figure this out.

Hoops is incredibly good at keeping his/her gender a secret. I haven't been able to ascertain it from a post yet. I've always assumed a guy, but then someone called Hoops a "she" today.

Has anyone else here been able to figure it out?

He's male. I met him at a Basketball camp, where he drilled me for 5 hours on my free throws.

oops. I think it was me who referred to him as a she. Its tough when he talks about basketball and has a lady holding a bbal as his avatar. What am I to think?

As a matter of fact, I think I remember him/her posting something about his/her wedding when he/she married himself/herself.

His avatar is foxey! I'm afraid the reality might be different. Even though he is a guy, I can't help thinking of him as a cute girl with a ball.

I still think of Shades as an attractive oriental lady.

I guess I'm visually oriented.

The hoops avatar is one used on at least a dozen sites across the internet. Even used in competing ad information for basketball schools.
