"watch college football"

Colleges are to learn things. Mostly to learn some science.

Yes, I know, we in Hungary are martians.

I don't know our future. Our children (5) are after college/university age. Our grandchildren (19) are before of it. I have something like fear...

I'd rather sit with my husband in sweatpants, eat, and watch football than go to a friend's house to see her new couch. I'll see the couch whenever I see the couch. :P

Our neighbors bought a custom Ethan Allen couch and that couch stayed at the Ethan Allen store/repair shop because of the squeak more than it stayed in their home. On second thought, maybe it wasn't Ethan Allen's fault that the couch kept a squeak. Oh, never mind!

I get bored with football and wouldn't go see the couch.

This is where the growing category equalization of rights for women comes in handy. They acquired the right to drive cars at some point:

"Here are the keys honey. Have fun. I'll see you when you get back. You can tell me all about the curves and color of the couch then."

Then I don't go watch football. I instead break out cocoa and get a book out.

Ceeboo, it sounds like there is a tragic story behind your poll. Was it a nice couch?

I voted for football, but I might reconsider if there was a trout stream near my my wife's friend's house. If it ran through her back yard, I'd be there for sure. I might even suggest that we check out the couch on a weekly basis to make sure it was wearing well.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Good morning Mr. Quasi,

Quasimodo wrote:Ceeboo, it sounds like there is a tragic story behind your poll.

How very astute of you!

Indeed! This really happened :(
Short version: (A pleasant Saturday afternoon in October, 2010)

The gorgeous bride says to Ceeboo "honey, can you take me to my friends house today?"

Ceeboo replies "Ummm, what time do you want to go and why are we going?, the game starts in an hour and I have chicken wings to fry"
The response of the bride "I want see her new couch and I want to go now because I was with her when she bought it last week and I haven't seen how the new couch looks in her living room."

Ceeboo replies "SOOOOOOOO, you have already have seen the couch at the store but you want to see it AGAIN at her house?"
Bride replies "Yes!, I NEED to go see how it looks in her place."

This tragic event (YES, I took her) was followed by 6 months of marriage counceling, severe pouting on my part, AND, you may have guessed it, the purchase of our very own new couch! (The one we had, about 1 year old, clearly was not working anymore)

Was it a nice couch?

Ummmmm? It was a couch!

LOL!
