Thanks, DrW, for demonstrating for us all once again that Dan Peterson doesn't care about substance. He's basically just a smear-meister in an academic's get-up. As you rightly point out, pretty much all he's been doing these days is calling names, smearing, and just generally acting like a jerk.

And what's stunning is that he's been extremely nasty and belligerent towards the most unlikely of "enemies," such as MsJack. And as I recall, you offered some remarkably kind, considerate, and compassionate words to Dr. Peterson after his son suffered a seizure, and now look at the way he's treating you.

And if the subject of his son were to come up again, I would ask how his son is doing and express concern, because I have been there. That experience is something that we have in common, if little else.

I fully expect that if I were to post about an unexpected or traumatic health issue with someone in my immediate family, especially a minor child, Dr. Peterson would be among those who would express concern and offer encouragement.

As I have stated several times, I am sure that in person Dr. Peterson is an amiable individual. I dare say that if we were to meet one another in person and the subject was travel or pretty much anything other than Mormonism or theism, we might even manage to have a civil, respectful, and perhaps even interesting conversation.

I hold nothing personal against DCP. I disagree with his worldview, and with the way he goes about defending it (or more precisely, not defending it.)

This matters to me for a number of reasons, including the one mentioned earlier in this thread -namely that I feel compelled to show the fraudulent LDS narrative for what it is (for the benefit of loved ones still in the Church). After all, it could be that family members, innocent kids, non-members, investigators and doubting TBM's may be reading this board and this very thread.

Dang. I've forfeited Scratch's good opinion of me. And, up to now, he was such a fan!

DrW wrote:I fully expect that if I were to post about an unexpected or traumatic health issue with someone in my immediate family, especially a minor child, Dr. Peterson would be among those who would express concern and offer encouragement.

You can count on it, and, in fact, as I expect you recall, I thanked you.

I've spent hundreds and hundreds of hours on defending it, of which even this is only a sample. What I do on this board (or any other message board) illustrates no more than a tiny percentage of what I do overall, and isn't particularly representative of it.

It's vain to tackle the Mormon church here in Utah expecting any crippling damage to come out. The percentage of Mormons or people who depend on Mormons for their lively hood is too high. Suppose somebody had a valid claim 100% no BS fact that would ruin them, they would be laughed at in Utah. If the claim were to be brought up in some place like Alabama the Alabamian's would just laugh at you and say 'We know the LDS faith is BS why are you telling us? seems clear you, myself and everyone here in Alabama knows it's a joke its not like we will assist you in your attempt to discredit an already false religion.'

No other city in the united states has a high enough LDS population to take down the Mormons. 100% fact is the only method without using biased opinions and lies to teach the LDS the truth.

I know that LDS by experience promise to obey the commandments on sunday morning. Why do we promise this when we must know that no one pre or post Christ has obeyed the commandments. Why the promise if we know definitively that no one can obey them? What is the promise for? And what does it accomplish. I guess I would have to go from my teaching that you do the best you can...2 Nephi 25:23 but the Bible the KJV says over and over again.. that if you are not perfect in God than you have transgressed all the laws. He keeps telling me that those that live by the law will be judged by the law. I don't want to be judged by the law. I've read here and there that Christ doesn't cover all sins like Young and others says. So heck no.. if I'm judged by the law I will not make it into the kingdom we desire. Please someone tell me you have followed the commandments and I will bow down and worship you. The Bible is very clear that if you break one law you are guilty of all, and also our teachings say that if you repent and do it again then all the sins come back on you. I've read that several places and been told that. Someone help me stay in a faith that teaches such things. Utah on my last search of goole searches reports is the most sinful state in the nation if not the world with the one term
"pornography" and "porn" I won't say the other terms that are searched to almost the number one spot and many in the number one spot for all the world for sex in Utah many nasty terms. Why is Utah the most sinful state in the world if they have the greatest light. I'm very confused. Someone told me this on a mission and I went to the google stats myself and found out it was true. I also found out that Utah leads the world in cosmetic surgery, depression and mortgage fraud among many other sins I found out Utah was the king of. I'm sorry I am loosing my faith over this because I know from being here that the Mormon Church runs this place(Utah). Why not Texas, the most Christian of all states, they don't even come close to pornographic searches not even close. The searches do not lie. The internet is our secret truth. Mormons are living a lie. We are not faithful and not only that the most unfaithful of all the states. I have many other problems I am dealing with but I will stop here and say. If it depends even by one once on me. I will not be saved to the celestial kingdom. Who hasn't lied in their reports? Of course we sin, but we only come clean when it's kinda big. Who hasn't masticated and then not reported it, thinking I won't do it again so why should I bring it up. I want to be worthy.. but I know in my heart of hearts no matter what I will never be worthy. I'm a sinner. Even my good works, I think pride has much to do with. And that is a sin. If I truly reported my sins we would be there for days and I'd probably be excommunicated or fellowshiped. So sin upon sin. If the Christians are right and God condemn you in every part of the law when you transgress one part. I'm screwed. but what the heck.. I'll go to a sort of heaven anyway. good thing we don't believe in that horrible hell Jesus keeps talking about. I know lots of sinners... and their good people..; they won't even go to outer darkness. Thank God for LDS where you can still go to some sort of heaven even if you live a sinful life. Return to the father. But then I start to wonder why Jesus talked about Hell so much. Jesus, Our Chosen savior! It's like he was obsessed with hell. And he seems to think allot of people are going there. I still don't know by years in the church who goes to oter darkness.. so far all I know is ex-LDS go there. Well I don't know if I'll keep my faith. I've been listening to Heart of the matter allot a anti Mormon show. And I love this guy. He is free. and I'm enslaved to underwear and coffee and earrings. It seems so strange when you think of it. Why would God care if I drank Coffee. I sneak it sometimes and I love it. I stay from the drink though. Well this is just a stream of my mind. I'll probably never write on here again. Later.

when I went through My last recommend their was a issue with my hair. They asked me if I wore my garments, Sexual personal things with my wife, My earring... they even pulled out of me my love for coffee. What the heck does this have to do with the gospel? What the heck does this have to do with my salvation? What the heck does this have to do with anything. I read that verse.. Jesus says his burden is light I will give you rest. REST! I can't do one thing without woundering if I'm doing the right thing... Is that rest! I can't go a day which sin always happens, without woundering if I'll be forgiven for it. And when I'll be forgiven for it. and If I have repented once and have done it again if Jesus will come sweep up the rest. The burden of the LDS on my back is a hundred pound sack. I can't even remember all the things I'm to do. And they just keep coming...when will this law of God end! Are these just recommendations...earrings and hair and coffee.. I think not. My bishop seemed to think they had allot to do with his decision. Where is our chosen Christ in that? I think I will convert to the islamic faith. I've looked into it and they have nearly half the laws of my beloved LDS. They have a scale where you can win salvation, where I just never know in LDS. What new precept will they come up with next. Maybe hot dogs or ham like the true jews. Maybe that will be our next prohibition! Who knows! Laws upon laws upon laws upon laws upon tithe upon temple. This is my faith. Laws. Obey god and you go to the celestial. Sorry I won't see any of you there, because I'm one that knows I don't obey God, and I'm not stupid I've read that Christ doesn't cover all sins, most likely I've committed those.

Okay I said I would talk and end it. But something is happening to me tonight. I think I'm moving over to Christianity. Jesus said that you would know them from thier fruits. I thought this was our fruits.. the believers ... the LDS, but it's talking about false prophets. And what fruits do I see from My Mormon Gospel? I see that they took from a grape vine and pulled out thorns, just as Jesus said. The presidents and prophecies of LDS have done exactly against the Bible, Jesus came to fulfill all theses laws.. I know what you have on the tip of your tongue (moses law) but he didn't say that, he said all the "prophets and the law!" That includes every law! It's been fulfilled. We are not bound by these laws any more. I am free. Goodnight LDS, you have just witnessed a conversion to the true christian faith. A man chosen by God and born again by the spirit. I am free, I have no condemnation, I have no burdens upon my back, I am redeemed from the law by someone that obeyed all of it for me. If I go out and get drunk in celebration, he has already redeemed it! Heck, Jesus would probably hang out with me in the bar. I also learned to night that he truly did drink, which means he would be a very bad Mormon. Why else did they ask if Peter was drunk at 9am....because he was drinking grape juice? Or the converts that were getting drunk at the communion dinner, was the church serving grape juice? I am free of you. and I will remove my name along with my family. 8 people. This all happen in a moment of reading the true gospel of Christ. I also learned he is not our "chosen" Christ, as we thought in the beginning, He says he chose us! Dang. I feel good. I feel free. I'm taking off my garments now and will burn them. I'm born again. Good bye.

I think that you have been a born again christian for years. But it was a good testimony to read. But you could have made it shorter.
