Some pain here-- drug testing

Post by _MCB »

OK-- some of you know that I wear my greying hair long. Part of it is because I want my drug history to be known. Or, rather lack of it. However, I have been doing some research. Disappointing. It seems that only the three inches closest to the scalp are testable. And that is in two 1 1/2 inch samples, because the drug metabolites wash out.

Does anyone else have this hangup-- a desire to prove oneself innocent of such accusations? You know, those LDS who think their warped preceptions come directly from above?

If I am reading you right, MCB, you are saying that you give a damn about what others think of you and proving yourself "innocent" of some such thing.

MCB, you are in need of a infusion of Jersey philosophy and it goes something like this:

“F” them!

No one else lives your life but you, no one has traveled the same path that you have but you, no one takes care of your responsibilities but you.

So “F” them!

I will tell you a little story but it really doesn't have anything to do with proving personal "innocence".

At the beginning of summer I was in a mall with DD and we stopped into American Eagle Outfitters. Now, my impression of AE is that the clothing there is for folks who are say 35 and under. I am NOT 35 and under.

When we were there I saw a top, a beautiful summer top all gauzy and in a sort of red orange. DD said "Get it, Mom" and I said, "No, I'm too old to be shopping in here." And I left it at that.

TODAY...I went into AE with another DD and guess what? The top was there and 40% off. I tried it on and *loved* it. I may not be "35 and under" but I am petite/not exactly fat/not exactly skinny enough to pull it off.

I reminded myself that I have been through so much crap in my life that I need to stick to my philosophy that I just don't give a damn what anyone thinks of me. I have money, the top fit me and so I BOUGHT it.

Furthermore, I am going to wear it to IKEA next week where I fully intend to spend a lot of money on whatever the hell I want!

MCB, my main message to you is that life is short, no one lives your life but you and if anyone seems critical of you or you feel paranoid about something...

“F” them!

You need to start an inner rebellion, lady. 'Tis good for the soul!!!

:-D

p.s. I look damn good in the top!!!!

PREACH, BFF!

MCB, how do *you* like your hair to be? I think if having it long as a testament of something meaningful to you is important than do it. I think if wearing it short because *insert reason* do it!

Wear it long, dye it, go natural, braid it and tie a knot in it, shave it all the hell off if you want to!!!

BFF! I shall preach it to the mountain tops! I started a new thread "Inner Rebellion", feel free to comment!

I have to go out now. I shall return!!!
