This all happen in a moment of reading the true gospel of Christ. I also learned he is not our "chosen" Christ, as we thought in the beginning, He says he chose us! Dang. I feel good. I feel free. I'm taking off my garments now and will burn them. I'm born again. Good bye.

I think that you have been a born again christian for years. But it was a good testimony to read. But you could have made it shorter.

haaa..sorry.
I guess you get a little excited when you leave the yoke of LDS. and you want everyone to know the reason. You won't hear of me in a few days. I'm not a form type of guy.

I've found these a few days before - by luck:
http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2006-06-15-hawking_x.htm wrote:World-renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking said Thursday that the late Pope John Paul II once told scientists they should not study the beginning of the universe because it was the work of God.

Hawking, author of the best-seller A Brief History of Time, said John Paul made the comments at a cosmology conference at the Vatican. He did not say when the meeting was held.

Hawking quoted the pope as saying, "It's OK to study the universe and where it began. But we should not inquire into the beginning itself because that was the moment of creation and the work of God."

The scientist then joked that he was glad John Paul did not realize that he had presented a paper at the conference suggesting how the universe began.

"I didn't fancy the thought of being handed over to the Inquisition like Galileo," Hawking said during a sold-out audience at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

The church condemned Galileo in the 17th century for supporting Nicholas Copernicus' discovery that the Earth revolved around the sun. Church teaching at the time placed Earth at the center of the universe.

But in 1992, Pope John Paul II issued a declaration saying the church's denunciation of Galileo was an error resulting from "tragic mutual incomprehension."
Has the Church any declaration which says about something was an error?

Benedict, who briefly met the wheelchair-bound physicist at an event hosted by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, described science as the pursuit of knowledge about God's creation.

"There is no opposition between faith's understanding of creation and the evidence of the empirical sciences," the pontiff said.

"Galileo saw nature as a book whose author is God."

The Catholic Church found the 17th-century astronomer Galileo guilty of heresy for insisting the earth revolved around the sun. It did not rehabilitate him until 1992.

Hawking is a guest at the week-long event, which will explore the theme: "Scientific Insights into the Evolution of the Universe and of Life."

In an interview with Reuters last year, Hawking said he was "not religious in the normal sense."

"I believe the universe is governed by the laws of science," he said. "The laws may have been decreed by God, but God does not intervene to break the laws."

The Catholic Church teaches "theistic evolution," which accepts evolution as scientific theory. Proponents see no reason why God could not have used an evolutionary process in forming the human species.

The Pontiff admired the technology that allows Hawking to speak through a voice synthesiser. Hawking is crippled by a muscle disease and has lost the use of his natural voice.

pep pep...Not the I dispute that Just me's caboose doesn't have a tatoo on it even if she tells me it doesn't have a tatoo on it, which means there really isn't anyone disputing that what is extant from the papyrus is that which Joseph Smith used to translate and create the Book of Abraham.

I just wanted to add, I don't know about being the most arrogant dogmatist, but I pretty much agree with Dr. Peterson's claim that DrW is quite an arrogant dogmatist. He seems to be proving to be one who doesn't really wish to discuss as much as one who wishes to condemn and speak down to. Fine by me, we all have our modes of operation. I just find it curious that others are defending it. Oh well. So much for honest thoughtful dialogue...

When dan comes into a thread, he immediately becomes the center of the thread. The critics flock to him like bees to pollen. But they are not as gentle as the bees. On this thread, there was a hijacking and it has nothing to do with faking it.

Well hijacking is a norm on forums, and this one started with some asking Dr W about his wife's experience. I think the idea that some of DCP's words helped someone see the that the church was not true did not sit well with him, so he chimed in. We all certainly did our part, you included, in allowing the topic to change, but it was not really about Dan, but about his comments regarding the Book of Abraham and wanting him to back up an assertion which he has still failed to do.

In reality people fake it in order to stay within a group they are comfortable and happy with, or due to fear of what family and friends might think or say. This may change over time if the church becomes more tolerant to members who do not believe some of the major truth claims the church makes.

DrW wrote:Ah, the artful dodge again.

You claim that I am arrogantly dogmatic because I make assertions that are counter to your unfounded belief. Yet when given the opportunity to refute what I say with evidence, you seldom, if ever, have the time.

Perhaps what you see as dogmatic arrogance is simply an unwillingness to discuss unfounded belief, fiction, myth, misrepresentations and magical thinking as if it represented fact or objective reality.

It's amazing how little time he has for substantive rebuttals, and how much time he has for squabbling. 6000+ posts!

Of course, I'm probably worse. 5000+ posts, in very little time. :o

Thanks for sharing! That is hot!

Like I said in a pp, there is nothing wrong with having some ink done. I just personally hate needles and don't see myself doing it.

I'd say it started when DrW first piped up with some perceived dichotomy between those who can think and those who believe, as if believers can't think and are stupid. That was of course before anyone asked DrW anything. i think the type of dogmatism that I perceived, and it seems Dr. peterson perceives from critics is often seen as harmless, but when an LDS gives any inkling to something similar coming frm the blieving perspective, any offending LDS poster is jumped on. Its a curious thing for sure.

So you have a tatoo on your caboos? I'm not intrigued for any sort of creepy reason, I don't think. I'm just intrigued bcause that just seems like a silly place to put one.
