And they did. They just couldn't command them to happen in their own right like Jesus did.

I guess I was being a little rhetorical. I've never heard of a blessing being given for something that is outside the realm of something that could also happen naturally. That way, when something does happen via natural means, the priesthood can get all the credit. If an amputated leg were grown back after a priesthood blessing had been administered, I'd make an appointment with a bishop to start my repentance process.Scottie wrote:Mad Viking wrote:Anyone know of someone getting a priesthood blessing that a lost limb would grow back?
My ex-MIL got a blessing that her detached retina would stay healed after the surgery.
It didn't.
She had 3 more surgeries, each with a blessing that THIS time it would work.
They didn't.
She lost her sight in that 1 eye.
But, I guess God's will was done. He had meant all along for her to lose sight in the 1 eye. I'm sure it will all make sense in the grand master plan in the afterlife...

But deep down, most PH holders know or fear that PH blessings don't work.
If their belief was literal, they would visit the cancer wards and ICU's every day and command the sick to rise and take up their beds. The CDC would rush their experts to Utah to study the amazing rate of healing, and the world would flock to the morridor like it was the biblical Pool of Bethesda.
It would actually be immoral for a PH holder to withhold such power.

Nice try though.

Actually he did just "go around healing everyone". Even those who didn't have faith and asked. See Mark 9:24.
So all the magical elders of Israel could at least go to the hospitals and give the blessings to those who ask.
Once the miracles start piling up the faithful will flock to to Utah. Soon, there will be billions who believe and there will be no sickness on the earth.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.
8 In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. 9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.
