Inner Rebellion!

Post by _Jersey Girl »

Okay, so I just got done posting this in Old Testament to MCB and am going to document my own inner rebellion.

If I am reading you right, MCB, you are saying that you give a damn about what others think of you and proving yourself "innocent" of some such thing.

MCB, you are in need of a infusion of Jersey philosophy and it goes something like this:

“F” them!

No one else lives your life but you, no one has traveled the same path that you have but you, no one takes care of your responsibilities but you.

So “F” them!

I will tell you a little story but it really doesn't have anything to do with proving personal "innocence".

At the beginning of summer I was in a mall with DD and we stopped into American Eagle Outfitters. Now, my impression of AE is that the clothing there is for folks who are say 35 and under. I am NOT 35 and under.

When we were there I saw a top, a beautiful summer top all gauzy and in a sort of red orange. DD said "Get it, Mom" and I said, "No, I'm too old to be shopping in here." And I left it at that.

TODAY...I went into AE with another DD and guess what? The top was there and 40% off. I tried it on and *loved* it. I may not be "35 and under" but I am petite/not exactly fat/not exactly skinny enough to pull it off.

I reminded myself that I have been through so much crap in my life that I need to stick to my philosophy that I just don't give a damn what anyone thinks of me. I have money, the top fit me and so I BOUGHT it.

Furthermore, I am going to wear it to IKEA next week where I fully intend to spend a lot of money on whatever the hell I want!

MCB, my main message to you is that life is short, no one lives your life but you and if anyone seems critical of you or you feel paranoid about something...

“F” them!

You need to start an inner rebellion, lady. 'Tis good for the soul!!!

:-D

p.s. I look damn good in the top!!!!

I'm also getting this top from AE:

in black and I don't give a damn who knows it!

I guess I will transfer some of this to my blog, but am starting here in case someone needs inspiration or can offer me more inspiration, you know...cheering each other on!

I go back to work in one week. I've decided that come hell or high water, I am taking one day off each month. I am sick of those co-workers who call in sick every Monday morning while I pick up the slack for them! (Jerks)

So, I am going to take one day off each month, or perhaps 2 afternoons off each month to get my pedicure, go shopping and do whatever the flipping hell I want!

F-them!

YAY! That shirt is totes cute!

I am all dressed up right now for no real reason other than I wanted to!

I am still working on not caring what people think. It is actually really hard for some reason. I have so many cute new clothes that I am scared to wear. However, my shoulders are actually tan because I have been working out outside with a TANK TOP on. This is pretty revolutionary for me.

What does "totes cute" mean?

uhhh, totally cute.

ETA: This does not bode well for chat tonight. My spelling and grammar is much worse in chat form.

EATA: DAMN! Pretty sure that should be "are" rather than "is."

Tank top? BFF....you need to pick up a cami with spaghetti straps. If you need to "beans/rice rice/beans" it, you can pick up some at Wal Mart for like 6 bucks or something. I have some from Eddie Bauer and also Wal Mart.

And oh yeah...let your bra straps show...or wear no bra at all!

Remember...it's rebellion!

:-D

p.s. I even saw cami's at Goodwill yesterday when looking for storage containers!!!

Oh, trust me, I have cami's! My tank top and cami collection is getting bigger and bigger. Yet, I am scared to wear them. I have to say that a cami with a skirt is about the sexiest combo I have ever tried!

I wear cami's under other shirts or sweaters a lot now. I'm getting closer. I need to go get some more colorful ones, mine are all pretty basic. I need hot pink or lemon yellow or fire engine red.

I am still unsure about showing bra straps.

my wife just took some long shorts and cut them short. So great!

Maybe I will also get some short shorts. :)

Yes, but are you willing to let your bra straps show?

Sad News: Today's inner rebellion has been pre-empted by an unexpected pity party.
