LDS missionaries rang the door bell the other day. I had forgotten just how green greenies can be. In the midst of my having briefed them on my experience with things LDS, mentioning what would bother me were I LDS [Book of Abraham and polygamy mainly the Book of Abraham], Elder greenie has that cultic glow flipping through his quad while Elder experienced missionary has that here we go again look. Don't get me wrong, we had a nice chat. So green!!!!

Just out of curiosity, how do you trip someone up on the Book of Abraham? We already know that, as far as plural marriage goes, you've got a whole lot of nothing.

Most nineteen year olds are green. It matters not if they are LDS missionaries or just nineteen year olds. Have you seen college freshmen and sophmores? Green as a greenbean.

I was never a greenie having much experience getting into pissing contests over whose man-made organized religion did a better job of pantomiming how they interpreted religious texts written by a culture and a people to whom I have no discernible connection before my mission. I would have likely have spouted off a bunch of incoherent, irrelevant babble about the Book of Abraham while providing no apparent reason to believe it is what the LDS Church claims it to be and the bizarre system of concubinage invented as a cover for Joseph Smith's sexual forays that we euphemistically call plural marriage then pronounced a laughably superstitious voodoo curse as you were cursing us off your property.

See? You shouldn't criticize those whom the LDS Church sends out to spread its message, since their demographics make them categorically naïve and sophomoric.

Easy, he shows MsNobody that Mormons are pragmatists. Creation of the earth required the work of many gods (Abraham ch. 4). The job is too big for just one guy. MsNobody would soon realize upon hearing this that BC is right. It would indeed be a daunting task to do alone. Everyone would happily conclude that the work of the Universe requires everyone to participate. We are the gods we worship. Then, the missionaries would be victorious and no violence (i.e. dusting of feet) would be required.

Last time I had missionaries over I just treated them well. They did their bit, but I know what it's like to be one of them and I just wasn't going to be adversarial. They're just kids.
