Or did they really meet someone after the disappointment of the crucifixion? Did they tell themselves later that it was really Jesus? Were they in denial?

There is also the theory that Jesus didn't actually die on the cross. If you read "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", it is suggested that either

1. Jesus' followers were able to administer a drug to Jesus, which made him appear dead to the Romans...then when Jesus was removed from the cross, they helped him plan an escape...which would explain the other sightings of Christ. It would also explain Christ's. "appearance" to Paul. Instead of appearing to Paul in a vision, Christ appeared to Paul in the flesh.

2. It wasn't actually Christ who was crucified on the cross at all, but a follower who was very similar in appearance who was willing to trade his life for Christ. Jesus was actually enabled an escape route.

Both are interesting conspiracy theories, at any rate. This where Dan Brown gleaned a lot of his material.

The Muslims believe Jesus lived a perfect life as an example for all of Mankind. Muslims believe Jesus didn't die on the cross but was lifted up into Heaven.

Why would the people of Jerusalem kill a perfect person?

A Christian will fill you in. If Jesus had even the Faintest idea his 'Views on life/Life' were breaking up homes he would not allow that, being perfect.

In the end It was all in the Name of God so home wrecking in those cases simply isn't an arguable stance.

There. Fixed that for ya.

I take it you are not a fan of New Testament studies . . .

Hello,

I'm not a fan of the New Testament. It's poop. It's nonsense.

I wonder if people recognized Aristeas after his resurrection? Maybe he wasn't recognized until after he spoke.
I'm the apostate your bishop warned you about.
