Obviously there is something wrong with your comprehension, because my explanation held water perfectly.

For starters, you were unable to find anything wrong with it.

I don't believe you.

Apparently not.

FAIL.

Being omnipotent, you already knew the results of MsJack's Return and Report, so you are just toying with us and our human imperfections.

Each one of these darling smilies is a loving child of the brutal god called "Jehovah" who is hell bent on murdering his fun loving children or at the least throwing them out of his kingdom and burning them in a pit of fire. These poor smilies have souls! Dr. Shades has no compassion on smilies. I don't like Dr. Shades. He reminds me of Jehovah. More of the same. Judgements.

Short Greek Drama atop Mount Red Butte

Shades: Seek not yon smilies and be ye therefore perfect.

Response: Gather ye smilies while ye may till banana-ripe themselves do cry.

One and all... I found an ancient papyrus while digging for gold in my backyard (what with the recession and all) written in reformed Dutch. Luckily, I have a BS degree in reformed Dutch. Although the manuscript was nearly completely eroded from the ravishes of time, I was able to translate the following. I find it eerily prophetic:

And it came to pass that Shadeantmr the Great did declare that, henceforth, all smilies were to be banished from the land. And, lo, his decree went forth from the land southward to the land northward and spread to the land eastward and to the land westward until there was not found one smilie in all the land. And it came to pass that the people mourned for, lo, they missed their smilies; even though some among them had abused their usefulness. And though there was weeping, gnashing of teeth and exceeding protest, Shadeantmr the Great did not relent and the land remained devoid of smilies. And it came to pass that as the people murmured against the unjust decree of Shadeantmr the Great that some of the leaders among them durst protest loudly, causing a great clamor. And behold, the protest grew louder until the murmuring of the people became exceeding great, wherefore, Shadeantmr could no longer tolerate the exceedingly great murmuring of the people. And, lo, and behold, it came to pass that after Shadeantmr did hear the great murmuring of his people, his heart was moved with a great compassion for them, knowing, as it were, how deeply they missed their smilies. And, behold, how exceeding great did those smilies miss the people! And it came to pass that after being moved with great compassion for his people and their smilies, Shadeantmr the Great did repeal his decree and did allow once again smilies in the land. And it came to pass that there was exceeding great joy among all the land northward, southward, eastward and westward. And a great feast was held in the city of Shadeantmr which is to this day called the feast of smilies.

I'm sure any resemblance to modern times is purely coincidental.

On two separate occasions people posted between 50 and 100 within a single post.

Ergo, gone forever.

On other forums the software puts a limit on smilies. You can limit them to 6 or 7 if you wish.

I don't believe you.

Neither do I.

If you really wanted to allow smileys again, you could make the same type of allowances and put in the same types of restrictions that you decided to make with the posting of images.

Please don't feed us a line...."See, I was going to bring them back, but..."

Sorry...I call BS.

You're not going to bring back smileys because you don't like them. It's as simple as that.

And, as board owner, that is your right. Just own it.
