Since they probably didn't have enough time in the movie to touch on Joseph's many wives and marrying 14 year old girls, I'm going to hold out for Volume 2 - - Joseph Smith: Plates of Hoes. Maybe it can get a PG-13 rating.

I thought FARMS estimated the weight of the (alloy) plates at around 60 pounds?

Go down to your local gym, put 60 pounds in one hand, and see how long you can hold it out at waist level or higher. Imagine (this is the main requirement for any thoughts about the gold plates) that you are flipping the leaves of the plates as you show them to your handpicked witnesses. I bet you can't hold the weight up for very long. Joseph must have been a heckuva strong dude.

This is assuming they are a gold alloy, which no one would want to steal for monetary gain.

This movie should have been made in the 80s, starring Arnold Swartzennegger as Joseph Smith.

COOL!! Then he could have dropped an "I'll be baaack" on Moroni every year he went for the plates. Or perhaps an "Hasta la vista, Moroni". Yeah...that would work for me.

I was super impressed at the candid admittance of treasure-seeking in the first 30 seconds of the trailer.

Also, is this the same actor who played the 14-year-old Joseph in the Church's Restoration film?

I wonder if they'll show him translating with a rock in a hat - with the same rock used for treasure seeking.

I certainly hope so!

Like HERE?

That poor girl clearly had no business sense ... if only she had given them some stuff about angels, and God being angry, and so on, she could have had a marvelous excuse when other people couldn't see anything and concluded she was a fraud.
