Buffalo's 'sneering mockery' passed over Buffalo's head?

His, his own sneering mockery of my political philosophy went right over his head, as he posted:

You're right, the church is on the verge of apostasy for veering away from the sacred principles of John Birch. I'm glad you can recognize this unholy marriage of Babylon (ie liberalism) and Mormonism. The church is falling away. You should start your own Mormon offshoot. Call it the Church of Buckley Christ of Latter-day Supply-Siders.

And then said:

Even when I agree with you, you respond with rage. :(

That was his response to my lenghty OP, for which I was fool enough to expect some serious responses, even if in disagreement.

A period of deep, calm breathing before any more posts, please.

And ask, perhaps, 'What am I trying to achieve by this post? Who am I addressing? And will the world be a better place when I have spent my energy on this?'

Now, while you reload your bong, I'm leaving this thread and restarting it in the Celestial room, where perhaps...perhaps...this issue can be addressed in a stimulating and productive manner.
Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side than to realize how well we know our Father [in Heaven] and how familiar his face is to us

It's like poking a blind, rabid, dog with a stick. I really oughtn't, but it's so tempting...

William Buckley is kinda famous for doing a lot to marginalize the Birchers within the Republican party and therefore making them seem less crazy. So your post comes across as schizophrenic to me.

Sorry, I can't keep my reactionaries straight.

The question being one of whether the the far sighted scout has the right to tell the scout master that there is a sinkhole in the trail up ahead, when the scout master has All Knowing written in his job description.

Call this "The September Six Syndrome." Not that the mods at the MD&D board are heading for apostasy, but there does appear to be a clear tendency manifested as an absorption and integration of fashionable "progressive" ideas, concepts, and attitudes from the surrounding "politically correct" academic culture, ....

I agree that message boards are the ideal medium for the free exchange of such ideas, but as you know, we LDS people are often sheep-like in our politics. Maybe the moderators at Mormon Dialogue realize this potential danger of encouraging even more sheep-like behavior or maybe it just rankles them to think all Mormons are somehow bound to accept Tea Party politics as a necessary manifestation of our dark side. Surely the far sighted scouts, like David Bokovoy, are not bound to accept the teachings of the John Birch Society.

There is always the inherent danger politics poses to the purity of religion. Pure shining white ideals will be stained by the mud of politics.
