Based on your assessment, however, I'm going to have to tentatively agree with you. What we may be seeing here is an instance of Droopy trying to use Latin to sound smart, and screwing it up royally.

Yes I feared I would have to wait until Dr. Kishkumen returned from this studies in the Vatican archives. Sadly Professor Dr. Blixa isn't around either. I forgot your foreign languages were Magyar, Finnish, Lakota, Spanish, French, Italian, and Oscan.

Droopy: you said that you've launched "hundreds" of threads devoted to "substantive" and "philosophically and intellectually serious" discussion. Well, if that's true, it surely can't take you more than a couple of minutes to cough up a half dozen links or so. Either do it, or concede that peoples' characterization of your posting is correct.

You can do that yourself, and there are some very recent ones in the Celestial room.

Scratch, please, these tactics are far too old and well worn to be of any use anymore. Let's all move on, because there's nothing to see here.

My point, Droopy, is that these "hundreds of serious, intellectual substantive threads" don't exist. That's not what you do. If there are so many of them, how about you point us to 5 or 6 of them?

It would run to the many hundreds, no doubt, if my posting here, at ZLMB, and MAD were all taken into consideration, over the years. The only reason you don't know about them, Scratch, is that you never participated in the vast majority of them because serious, philosophical discussion is outside your circle of interest.

Waiting, waiting, waiting for those links, Droopy. 5 or 6 links.

You're claiming that your long rant about the MDD mods is, in your mind, "intellectually serious and substantive"? Okay. Is that the best you've got?

Asking for evidence is hardly a "tactic," Loran.

Well, he was always the good guy. He never played the heavy (His brother, Drippy, was, I will admit, a bit of a roughneck).

I think then that "summe bonus" (damn conjugation~nominative form I guess is what it would be although accusative form might be what's require since it's direct object) would be "supremely good". So I see what you were saying, basically right except conjugation and no one gets that crap right short of Cicero and Kish.

Calling that a "rant" is nothing more than one of your typical manufactured provocations. Scratch, you're just far, far too shallow and transparent for me to bother with you at all. I only really do it for its entertainment value.

Are you soliciting content, Jack? If so, I think I'd like to contribute. Maybe something on reading the Bible seriously for the first time and the effect it's had on my teaching. Or maybe an "atheist's" encounters with the Numinous. That term is in quotes because me and whoever the patron saint of geology is had a long talk during a traffic jam this evening...

Here are some old OPs, Scratch, all from the Celestial room. Did you participate or add anything of intellectual value to any of them?

Off the top of my head, optimum is more technically correct, but inanis or vacuus are much more apt.

Oh, sorry Nancy, I just wondered why you no longer use your husbands last name as your own. Rather odd, is it not?
