Sure. There is freedom of speech but not on exmormon boards. Whinning is different than discussing.

Is there freedom of speech on pro Mormon boards? Comment sections of Mormon owned 'public' news operations? Church meetings and lessons?

I think that there is freedom of speech on Mormon boards. One can certainly disagree if done nicely and respectfully. And in church meetings, there is no one to my knowledge that acts as a enforcer of the law.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

How many dozens, possibly hundreds, have been banned from the former MAD? Contrast that to here, where few, if any, have been banned. The sheer weight of numbers proves you wrong.

Ever hear of the September Six? They were excommunicated.

why me wrote:This is the nutshell. Welcome to the board. You have learned how to be insulting, something exmos become experts on. Now you can go back home to the board that allows no dialogue from members so that to protect the minds of exmembers.

Is it insulting to actually engage in dialogue?

I have explained to you repeatedly why I disagree with your sentiments as stated here. Others here have supported my charge that you lack understanding of Mormon culture, including the dynamics of authority and obedience, and the church-dictated rules about ring ceremonies. You have responded by dogmatically reasserting your original opinion without responding to my criticisms.

That is hardly dialogue-- something you profess to esteem so highly.

I'm sorry you think that I'm insulting-- I just thought I was being direct in addressing flaws in your reasoning. If that offends you, maybe you should reconsider how you interpret my tone. And however insulting you might think I am, at least I have taken you seriously and taken the trouble to actually understand and respond. Some reciprocity would be appreciated.

You expect too much; whyme functions solely in chatbot mode, so as to give the illusion of dialog to degree just sufficient to make his readers waste the maximum of time replying. However, he is programmed to come back to a small set of formulaic statements over and over again. These include:

"The church has not yet been proved untrue"
"The church is a good way to bring up kids"
"People who leave the church should stop whining about their experiences"

and so on and so on ...

You can tell when he is simply re-setting to default mode when he says "Let me try this again". He will then simply repeat what he has said previously, ignoring any points you have made.

I have him on ignore, so nowadays I only see his stuff when other people are tempted into quoting it, or when I look at the board without remembering to log in. Give it a try.
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

Ah, thank you for the clarity. I will adjust my expectations accordingly. :0)
