Can it also not be about Will, and his great pride in his ability to write in Italian?

I mean, it really adds to his credibility, doesn't it?

How could anyone fail to believe in a guy who posts in Italian on a board on which the dominant language is English, and where he has no reason to expect the majority of members to be able to read Italian. He must be very smart - must know all sorts of stuff that us ordinary folks don't know.

===

Just one of the ways in which Will tries to make himself the subject of the discussion - and succeeds.

Well done sir - you really know how to make an impression.

OK - now can it not be about Will? Thanks.

Don't even publicly suggest that you might be entertaining the possibility of reflecting on anything that would even come close to departing from consensus wisdom.

If you have even the slightest inclination toward a heterodox thought, deny it!

But I'm all with you. If I experience something unusual or seemingly supportive of a paranormal phenomenon, I react by sharing it with others in hushed, suggestive tones. I don't make any effort to understand it in the broader context of how rigorous study has examined and explained such experiences. I don't try to make a connection between what I've perceived and how others have struggled with correctly attributing their experiences. I just go on saying "maybe there's something to that." If I get fancy, I might toss a "Semmelweis" here and a "paradigm" there.

Speaking of which, I saw some moving lights in the sky the other day, and well, I'm starting to think that the probability that alien aircraft are exploring the planet isn't what the government would have you think.
