What’s strange about this to me is that he is openly taking a position contrary to the Church (he supports same sex marriage) and is being placed in a “leadership” role. Generally, it has been my understanding that the Church has disciplined members for taking positions publicly that are contrary to the church's view. Here, the opposite appears to have occurred. Indeed, it seems that part of Mr. Mayne's qualification for this particular position of "leadership" is his taking a public stand in support of gay marriage. I keep scratching my head over how God works with this stuff.

Of course not, silly. We've always been at war with Eastasia.

We came around to the world's view on birth control and who knows how far that will go in regards to gay marriage.
