People in psychosis often harm others or themselves. They seldom contribute wisdom in the same way that say Einstein or Aristotle did.
I am sure some altered states enrich the human experience but I also see that it occurs far less than the psychonauts think. Many times all we end up with is useless and often cliché stoner wisdom.
when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

If you call going on a murderous rampage because you are starving, then yeah, fasting induces psychosis.
