"The term Lamanite includes all Indians and Indian mixtures"
"The term Lamanite includes all Indians and Indian mixtures, such as the Polynesians, the Guatemalans, the Peruvians, as well as the Sioux, the Apache, the Mohawk, the Navajo, and others. It is a large group of great people." - Spencer W. Kimball

That's the official doctrine. Don't let the apologists try to tell you otherwise. :)

Your point being, what? I agree with President Kimball's quote. I'm not all that knowledgeable of Polynesia but the Americas I understand church teaching and official doctrine to be consistent with your quote.
It is true that some, not all, apologists follow the Sorensen heresy and futher say that the Lamanites' descendants are in small area, but they're false and heretics.

The point being, that the genetic evidence does not support the church's official position as stated above. That leaves us with some possibilities.
1. God changed the genetics of the people on this continent so as to deceive scholars and not tip his hand, allowing that faith still be in the salvation equation.
2. The lamanites disbanded and interbred with Asiatics to such a degree that the genetics were diluted beyond recognition. And did so in the time since 600 AD.
3. The Lamanites are a fictitious parable.
What'd I miss?

Oh, buff my friend,
President Kimball was only speaking as a man, not a prophet.
And, in case you didn't know, anything spoken by a prophet who is dead is not currently official doctrine unless the current prophet also states it in an official capacity.
Finally, you can't go back forty years to get current official doctrine. Anything past ten years is obsolete.

Do you agree with Spencer's other quotes?
Like when he said he could see Native Americans physically turning white through righteousness - do you believe that one?

Or perhaps God tweaked the DNA of Laban and Lemuel and their wives to engineer a new racial classification of man.
As the archeologists I've hired for Native American digs in the past have noted to me, Native American DNA has very unique markers unknown anywhere else in the world except for Polynesia (which is probably post-Columbian) and Siberia.

You changing the subject?
I think it is plainly apparent that Native American's skin coloring has changed, at least in the main and on average, over the years. I would attribute it to intermarriage but it could be anything.

Could the skin colour changing be a reflection of righteousness, as specifically stated by the Mormon Prophet?

I've answered your question.
