Re: The Nehor has left the building...

On Liz's board, The Nehor said, in effect, that he deleted his account because--to his mind--DCP had been "driven off" by several of the posters here. The truth is that Dr. Peterson left after being confronted with a series of tough questions that he was unwilling to answer. In particular, Mr. Stakhanovite caught DCP manipulating some of his sources in a rather extraordinary way. (This discovery, by the way, is, to my mind, one of the Top Ten Happenings in Mopologetics of 2011). So, basically, after seeing DCP leave in the wake of his getting caught for intellectual dishonesty, The Nehor fled in a fit of impotent rage.

I really ought to do a more in-depth write-up of this phenomenon. Not all that long ago I embarked on a series of Mopologetics studies entitled, "Towards a Theory of Mopologetics." A part of this clearly entails the impact that upper-tier apologists have had on the fanboys. What has become increasingly clear to me is the fact that these lower-tier apologists simply cannot tolerate seeing their idols in a more human light. What I'm saying here is that one of the consequences of upper-tier Mopologetics is idolatry among the masses.

Does this serve as a signal that some introspective thought regarding this board would be helpful?

LDST wrote:Use of the phrase 'vultures' strongly insinuated that all of us members of MD are classified as such. Liz admits to starting this thread for the specific purpose of baiting posters; to point and laugh at us.

Do you feel that is right? Is it ethical behaviour? Stem, do you treat your friends that way?

You accuse us of being hateful, but Liz seems to express outright disdain for us by starting this very thread for her own amusement!

I dunno stem, something about that doesn't seem right. I'm surprised you can't see that there is something deliberate and mean-spirited in those actions.

stem wrote:Now, it appears, you see this as some huge battle. As if her being friends with you and the Nehor is going against her allies in some traitor sort of way.

LDST wrote:No, that's not what I'm getting at. Liz can make friend with whomever she'd like; truthfully, I've rarely interacted with her and can't honestly call her a 'friend'. It's the fact that she started a thread to point and laugh from her great and spacious perch on the internet. That's what is pissing people off, Stem.

First of all, I did not create this thread to be mean-spirited, cause drama, etc. I created this thread for the express purpose that my OP claimed. I am sorry to see Nehor leave the board and, as a participant here at MDB will miss his posts here.

My comments made on my private site were not intended for the general population here, and were taken out of context by Scratch's and Screech's quote-mining. Since they are not members of that site, and are not participants, they do not understand the dynamic of that board. I was NOT, in fact, referring to ALL MDB posters as vultures. I was referring to the MDB posters who drove Nehor off the board as vultures.

Have you ever made a comment for one crowd that wouldn't be appropriate for another crowd? That is basically what happened.

My comment regarding this thread was an off-handed comment. I did not create this thread to bait anyone.

The only ones I see creating drama over all of this are you, Stak, Screech, and, of course, Scratch.

liz, fyi, I took it as a very baiting reference to the posters here. And I was more than a little surprised to see it.

If you don't like my call, take it up with Shades.

If your board is intended to be private, do you not have the technology to stop it being publicly visible? That might spare participants some embarrassment in future.

You are correct, Chap. Now, all of the forums are invisible. They cannot be viewed unless a participant is logged in.

The reason that this had not been done before is because I had been, and am actually still having issues with some posters being able to post links. There was a permissions glitch that I was attempting to correct, and it was easier to test with the forums being in a public domain. Since we have been pretty far off the radar, and not visible in any google searches, I honestly didn't anticipate our site being leaked. We are a small little group, and have been minding our business.

I'm sorry you took it that way. That's not how it was meant. Believe or don't believe what you want. You have known me long enough now to make that call.

I didn't misunderstand Liz's reference at all, mainly because I could name a list of posters here, as long as your arm, whom Liz admires, and has even defended in the past.

+1

Maybe I can still get my Nehor fix at MDD. If we had grown up together, I believe we probably would have been in the same circle of friends.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.
