Shouldn't Christ be here by now...?
I'm not being funny but...according to the whole seven seal deal Christ returns to the Earth at the commencement of the seventh thousand year period since Adam was created and placed in the Garden of Eden.
We know from LDS scriptural chronology that Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden 4,000 BC.
So...a little bit of mental arithmetic later...we arrive at the conclusion that Christ is supposed to return to the Earth on or around the year...2,000 AD.
Or in other words, a decade ago.
Is he here...?
Did I miss the fanfare and Handels Messiah being sung by angels...?
Is he late...?
What is the official apologetic explanation for His tardiness?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's hard to feel good about placing my life and salvation in the hands of someone who's late for his own second coming.
I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. Jesus was never the best project manager to begin with. It took him 4.6 billion years just to get the planet primed for his first coming (not to mention all the space in the universe he's wasted). To expect him to come back on time... let's just say his résumé leaves something to be desired.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

The day is nigh at hand, even at our very doorstep..... and has been for 200+ years.
BUT, remember that 200 years is just a blink of an eye for God!

Actually, Jesus and Paul both expected the end to come within their generation.

Just to be clear: the op is an LDS position (I'm assuming), but not a mc position.

To be honest I'm in the sitting down position just now...
Yes, it's from an LDS point of view, but when do you think He's coming?

He's not coming. He's just breathing heavy.

Hoops, meet Some Schmo.
But seriously, when do you think he's coming?
Do you think he's pushing the deadline by now?
