The title of the article should have been. Bryan Fischer: Slamming the Mormons and the practice of polygamy.

How he transitions from the First Amendment to Polygamy is ridiculous.

This guy sounds like a total nut job. The first amendment was intended for Christians only? However, his grasp of Mormon polygamy is more accurate than most members I know. There is no way the main LDS church will ever go back to it though. They would lose 100 years worth of mainstreaming efforts. Members would resign in droves, tithing revenue would drop off dramatically, and they would return to minor cult status.

Bryan Fischer has already been on the record saying that the first amendment does not apply to Muslims and atheists. It (free exercise) was intended only for Christians according to him. I suppose it is completely unsurprising that someone who would hold this view also would think that Mormons aren't Christians. Still, I recall Mitt Romney sucking up to him on his radio show because he is a major player in the religious right. That was before he explicitly included Mormons in that. Hence, this thread.
