I got a kick out of that. He said "all you need is love" with a mocking voice and rolled his eyes. The congregation laughed. These old guys are still fighting the hippies, and they wonder why younger generations are disillusioned, leaving the church and going inactive.

There are very few EVies who would state so categorically when Christ will return. Those that do are resoundly criticized for making this claim when The Bible makes it clear that no one knows.
Quite right! After all, when the Bible says Christ will come back in "this generation", it could literally mean any time in the next several thousand years.

No, please don't get me wrong. I do not believe the Church is true, nor do I believe that the Prophets and Apostles are actually led by God. But I did think Anderson's talk had clarity on what the Church thinks on this subject. You and I may not agree with him on it, he may have put it across like he was talking to Primary kids, but he didn't try to fudge it.
