Damn anti-Beatle.

I got a kick out of that. He said "all you need is love" with a mocking voice and rolled his eyes. The congregation laughed. These old guys are still fighting the hippies, and they wonder why younger generations are disillusioned, leaving the church and going inactive.

Interestingly it seems that Jesus spent his entire earthly life teaching that 'all you need is love'.
Perhaps Monson thinks he's bigger than Jesus...

There are very few EVies who would state so categorically when Christ will return. Those that do are resoundly criticized for making this claim when The Bible makes it clear that no one knows.

Quite right! After all, when the Bible says Christ will come back in "this generation", it could literally mean any time in the next several thousand years.

Or several million years?

Billion perhaps?

Yup. Those old bankers who call themselves prophets are totally out of touch. Still fighting the long-hairs. They don't know their own church. It's not 1965 anymore.

I see what you did there. Nice. Maybe people will start burning Tommy Monson books in protest to his affrontery.

No, please don't get me wrong. I do not believe the Church is true, nor do I believe that the Prophets and Apostles are actually led by God.
But I did think Anderson's talk had clarity on what the Church thinks on this subject. You and I may not agree with him on it, he may have put it across like he was talking to Primary kids, but he didn't try to fudge it.

Hi, jon. Wow, such different reactions to his talk. I just listened to the review on mormonexpressions. You might enjoy it. At first, I thought I just might be too critical these days to walk away with a helpful message. Then, I listened to the review. All of us thought it was a major mindfuck.

Check it out. See what you think.

I'll have to read the transcript when it comes out, but I didn't get that from what he said.

Ha ha ha ha .... Read the 'transcript'.... Ha ha ha ha .
Brilliant.

The talks are available on LDS.org to listen to, go play it before the PR Editors get their scissors out...

Holland stumbled in Priesthood Session, Wanting missionaries to be devoid of the spirit. He also laughs after his segment about tongues being bound, God let you get away with that one huh Holland?
