Awww. My thoughts go out to his family.
He hasn't made it onto New Familysearch yet.

Re: Time to baptize Steve Jobs
I had the honor to meet Mr. Jobs a couple of times. He truly was one of the most creative minds our generation will ever see. Many today can't remember how Apple struggled before he came back to lead through enthusiasm and creativity. He will be missed.
Let's all hope and pray, after the Mormon church does the proxy work on him - very soon I suspect, we don't see his testimony at MST.

This was sad news when I heard it. I love my MacBook Pro.

Can't be done until October 6, 2012. Get in line.

You have to wait a year? I did not know that.
Well, it makes sense. Kind of like having sex before marriage makes you wait a year before going to the temple for a celestial marriage. Steve Jobs might have committed sins on his deathbed that require a period of repentance in waiting.

Crap, I lost! Infamys, that was a funny comment to start out your post with.
I felt a very strong pang of sadness when I saw this news this evening. My first personally-owned computer after I left home and went to college was a Macintosh IIsi, back in 1991 or so. I was a Macintosh programmer for a few years, until right before MacOS X came out. I haven't been a very active Mac guy in the years since for my own usage (I always build my own PCs, and run Windows on them), though I bought my wife and daughter a G4 iMac in the early 2000s. I recently purchased a Core i7 MacBook Air (256gb ssd) for my daughter for college, and she loves it and uses it all frickin day long. Of course my family has had a few iPods over the years, including my iPod Touch, which I've used the friggin heck out of.
Apple played a non-trivial role in my own life, and I have Steve Jobs to thank for that (and all the others at Apple that worked to make these things happen). He did in fact make a dent in the universe. For all of his good sides, and his bad sides, Steve Jobs certainly had a lot more impact on the lives of billions of people than most of us ever will.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Re: Time to baptize Steve Jobs
I programmed 6502 assembly on the Apple II's back in 1982-83, but found the Atari 800's had far better graphic chips and far better gaming selection. I spent more time on the Atari 800 instead. Apples were nothing but a novelty for boring classes with math teachers suddenly having to teach us basic, something I already had at least two years in. The Franklins were even worse.
Naw, never cared for the Apples. Went straight from the Ataris to the IBM XT's with DOS 1.x, hit GWBasic, Basica, then picked up Turbo Pascal in 1984 and I never looked back.
While I respect what Jobs did and who he was, I never cared for, never owned and never will own or use anything Apple.

RIP Mr Jobs.
And a hearty *LOL* on the testimony showing up later at MST.
