lol that's funny, jon. I can't imagine why someone would be after a woman on a reality show complaining about her non-TBM status or something--calling for her, in effect, to lose her job or something. And somehow me calling you on that is me being the preachy old woman?

I know how you wish to see it though. NO big deal.

Infymus wrote:And this is what it is with all of these shows, not just Survivor, and not just Mormons. Last episode of Survivor there was this whiny Christian that would break into crying every episode about the strange path that Christ was leading him on. And when he'd loose challenges, he'd go on about how he didn't understand why he didn't win, but it must be the will of Christ.

Then you see those who win big trophies, awards, etc, in game shows, films, etc - all thanking God. Yep, the sky daddy wrote that in his book. Today I will help a white guy in America win some cash.

And meanwhile, starving children? Well, maybe they need to pray a little harder so they can get on a game show in the South Pacific and win a million dollars.

It's all stupid, pathetic religious BS. God is always to blame if he helped and never to blame if he didn't.

There seems to be a pretty easy solution here, Infymus. Stop watching the show. If all you can do is whine about other humans because of it, then perhaps you ought to stop watching it. It'll probably benefit you to do so.

Because there is a lot more to these shows than a few whiny Christians. Just like there is more to this board than you.

In defense of the woman, I think she would be exempt from wearing garments as it isn't really practicle to be on the show and wear them. If she went to her bishop ahead of time and said hey, I'm going on a reality show and I don't think I can really wear garments on the show without being at a real disadvantage on the show, is it Ok if I stop wearing them for 39 days? I think the average non-Boyd Packer type of bishop would say that was fine.

And she did kick some royal butt on that challenge last night.

I'm still rooting for Coach though.

Who cares? leave the poor lady alone.

God Stemelbow, you will whine about anything that anyone whines about. Can you leave the poor whiners alone?

What do you expect? He graduated magna cum laude from the ttribe institute for LDS whining.

That real disadvantage being that the producers couldn't get camera shots of some of her butt cheeks showing to keep the ratings up?

I'm not sure the ratings are what he's worried about getting up.

I'm not rooting for anyone. Not this season. The whole "Redemption Island" is utterly stupid. Last time - everyone that got voted off but won the right to come back in the game? Promptly got voted right straight back out. It was an absolute no-brainer.

Now, Russell Hantz's Nephew, Brandon - curls my lip.

He has spent a lot of time attacking the beautiful young women there. He believes that because they are wearing skimpy bathing suits, or that their breasts are nearly exposed - that they tempting him and he calls on God for help.

What strikes me so much is how much this is just like Mormonism. He is pushing this on this beautiful young woman. It is her fault that he is feeling sexually attracted to her. It is her fault for wearing revealing clothing. I have seen this so many times in Mormonism - and seen it preached in GC - that a woman is responsible for everything. Women are walking pornography. Remember that talk? It is shameful. A woman can be whatever she wants to be. If a man cannot control himself, it is HIS fault, NOT hers. He disgusts me in so many ways. He is a manipulative, controlling little wretch.

And the last few episodes, he turns on the water works time and time again. Thank goodness for DVR in that I can fast forward through his pious rants.

yeah, I concur on him. He's very anoying and his Jesus this and Jesus that has no place on Survivor - especially when he says one thing and acts another.
