The problem is that if you get a different answer you are WRONG.
So, what is the point of praying about it? Did the Spirit tell members that Dunn was telling fiction?
If you don't like the LDS church, you can always leave. No problem. If you are in salt lake, head down to the catholic cathedral and go to mass and join the catholics for their coffee hour. Of course they have the pope. Protestants tend to listen to their pastor. No sense attending a church when one does not listen to their pastor, pope, or prophet.
What does this have to do with the thread or my comment for that matter?

How his fellow LDS leaders laid aside the sanctity of honesty and doing what's right to protect Dunn's lies and punish the person primarily responsible for blowing the whistle on him?

===Your Head===
You have no point. My point is simple: one can not condemn an entire church because of Paul H. Dunn. And that was my point. Dunn made a mistake. He's dead. He made a mistake. Move on.
Not quite, he made a mistake on behalf of the Church which led large numbers of people to believe things that weren't true. I think the unasked/unanswered question is how he managed to continue making the exact same mistake for years on end without any Apostle or Memeber of the First Presidency being tipped the wink that one of their inspired appointments had gone rogue.

Best of all, head down to the local pub. You'll meet a much better, more honest group of people.

19th-century Protestants made mistakes. They're dead. They made mistakes. Move on.
WHOOSH!
If you our critical of Mormon history I will bring up the protestants and their unchristlike intolerance toward others. But yea, you are right. They are dead. Move on.

Please. You fixate on the foibles of Protestantism (real or perceived) at times when I'm saying zero about Mormon history, let alone anything critical of it. It's what you do.
And now you've barged into this thread to criticize others for refusing to "move-on" from Dunn when you're one of the biggest squatters on this forum.

Forgive him?? You are TOTALLY missing the point. I couldn't care less about Dunn or his entertaining tall tales. I do feel sorry though for those who actually spent their hard earned cash on his books, tapes, etc. thereby supporting and encouraging his continued profiting from his story telling.
Having seen Dunn at a fireside in person, I was amazed at those around me who were in tears having been touched by the "Spirit of God". I am further amazed how the "Lord" chooses to manifest his "Spirit" through the mouths of liars and frauds. Truly amazing. Another "testament" of the "One true Church" I suppose. Yeah...that's it. That's how I would expect the "Almighty" to get his message across. Mmmmmm...yeah.
