Fool Me Twice

Post by _honorentheos »

On Science Friday today (Oct. 14th) Ira Flatow is speaking with Shawn Otto the author of the book, "Fool Me Twice" about the backlash against science.

Because this is a common response we see on the LDS boards, I thought I'd post a link to it. Its still playing as I post and may be of interest. If not still playing when you read this, it will be up on the archives in the near future.

As a follow-up, here is a link to the page for this particular segment - When Politics Meets Science

Personally, I find the idea of a science pledge interesting but not necessarily something I would want to see actually enacted. As much as I share physicist's Neil deGrasse Tyson's recently expressed view that too many of our politicians hold a stronger allegiance to winning a debate than they do to finding "truth" I don't think requiring someone to sign a pledge is the answer.

Anyway, the book is on my list.
