Currently the Church's young men aged 12 - 18 are taught that they should marry someone from ''...the same race generally...''. This teaching is still in an official Church manual.
Racists teachings are wrong. The Church is wrong to teach this.
That's not a "racist" teaching, but just good advice regarding making one's marriage as smooth and unconvoluted as possible. I don't know if its still in the manual or not, but I haven't heard that teaching actually mentioned in some thirty years. One doesn't just marry one's spouse, but that spouse's family, and crossing ethnic and especially cultural lines has always been a hazard, and still is (thought there is obviously nothing wrong with it along "racial" lines)>

If they could see her behavior here (assuming she was not hiding behind a screen name, as is the wont of so many of the apostate Annointed), I wonder if perhaps her clueless ranting about a doctrine she clearly has made no attempt to actually understand, would appear as anything more than self serving pseudo-moral pomposity masking an general disdain for living the gospel and a overarching hostility to its primary tenets?

Really, this member that told the story is simply parroting what the very leaders of the LDS Church have taught in times passed. I don't recall anyone ever repudiating this either.
So sure it is nonsense and I agree that it is not taught authoritatively today. But there was a time it certainly was.

The idea here is that the Nephites that came from Israel were white. The group that dissented from the Nephites after they arrived that were called Lamanites were cursed and their skin became dark. The idea it he indigenous Americans were descended from the Lamanites thus their dark skin. The Book of Mormon as well as some LDS leaders taught that as the descendents of the dark skinned Lamanites accept the true gospel their will become once again a "white and delightsome" people.
Droopy proposes, if I understand him, that this teaching means that the descendents of the Lamanites will intermarry with white people and thus their descendents will become white. I think that is his spin. I have never heard this idea taught as such.
