I'm still trying to find out where I can read Mormonism's "systematic theology".

This is how Wikipedia defines "systematic theology":

In the context of Christianity, systematic theology is a discipline of Christian theology that attempts to formulate an orderly, rational, and coherent account of the Christian faith and beliefs. It is also called Dogmatics.

So where can I find a book like that about Mormonism? It has to be one that is LDS Church approved in order to fit the bill. That throws McConkie's work out the window.

Based on the silence I would suspect nobody can supply me with any outline of Mormon systematic theology. This means Romney can believe whatever he wants within the confines of the Articles of Faith especially with regards to the Godhead. So if anyone asks him he can simply say, "I believe in God the Father and in his Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost."

I think a press conference would be very good for both Romney and the church. The Prophet could address the media and state that the LDS church does not endorse any political candidate and that every LDS member can vote for anyone in any political party. They can state that even though they have a horse in the race it is up to all people to choose who is best for the country.

Wouldn't change any minds. Those of a conspiratorial nature, such as this board's antiMormons, will have their views hardened; something like the Church's ulterior motive is to lull us into electing an LDS president who can be controlled from SLC.

I'm a Romney backer. I can't really understand why anyone would believe the LDS Church would be able to control the President of the United States, Mormon or not.

With Romney's meteoric fall beginning, I think this issue has become even more relevant. Most people I know across the country agree. While folks in Provo remain ignorant to the real issue facing Romney at a national level, the uneasiness and distrust of the Mormon faith and claims, the LDS Church remains silent, in an official capacity, to discuss or explain it's doctrine and theology in any national media or forum. The millions of dollars the church spent on their national campaign of "feel good" has done nothing to explain it's belief or help Mitt overcome the same issue that cost him four years ago. Whether or not you agree w Catholicism, the Catholic Church provides leaders for national media to address it's beliefs and theology for all to hear. Father Morrison on FOX news is just one example.

But when and where has this "supposed church" ever spoke up, officially, and clarified or supported their claim to explaining "their Christianity"???

You haven't been paying attention.
It's sad. A church that's spends a weekend on cable and media trying to embellish it's name from "Mormon", and yet spends tens of $millions on campaigns with "I'm a Mormon" theme.

Or maybe you have but you're missing it.

I'd feel lonely too if I were a Mormon running for President. Perhaps why Hunstman has spent the year trying to distance himself from this quagmire!!

Thanks for disabusing us of the notion that a Romney presidency would be run from SLC.

There just doesn't seem to be any evidence that it's a Mormon thing this time.
