While I'm not refuting that fair skinned individuals lived in Judea during Christs time there, contemporary pictures of whites from regions not associated with whites don't necessarily reflect the racial make up of the Judea and Palestine regions two thousand years ago. Yes there where Romans,
some of which were from Gaul and France, thus more white then olive. Given that Jews were historically recognized as strictly marrying other Jews, I find it hard to believe that inter marriage amongst the Roman military and Jewish locals as a source for Christ potentially being white.

Especially not Nordic white as commonly depicted in Europe and N. America.

Fair enough, hairy muff. If the mark wasn't referring to pigmentation, then that's just one less Biblical reference to skin color. Meaning that a reference to Jesus' skin color in the New Testament would have been even more an oddity.

I do wonder what the mark could possibly have been, then, though. It was apparently something visible. Or not--I guess God could have made him really stinky so that nobody could have gotten close enough to kill him.

I think it might be unfair of you, plunderpunk, to try to infuse reason and common sense into this topic.

In good apologetic style, there is NO evidence that God did not curse Cain and his descendants with day-glow orange flotation devices as a mark.

The sea water would have been diluted enough with rain to render it drinkable. They would have dined on sushi until the waters receded. They would have had wrinkled toes, though.
