Has Will Schryver Chosen a Protégé?

Post by _Doctor Scratch »

Something caught my eye earlier today as Droopy was in the midst of his obsessive exploration of all things porn-related:

Droopy wrote:As William is no longer posting here as a matter of principle, he asked me in an e-mail, regarding this thread and its general focus, to post the following...

Now this is interesting indeed. Obviously, Will's ability to continue engaging in the full spectrum of Mopologetics was severely crippled after MsJack's devastating account of his various moral failings. Surely one of his concerns in the wake of all this was the question of continuing "The Work." If Will himself cannot carry on the rotten duties of Book of Abraham apologetics, it surely means that he would need to "recruit" one or more "Padawan Learners" to his cause. Who would this be, though, given how many people Will has alienated over the years? One clear candidate is Wade Englund, who has been on board the Schryver Train ever since the dud of a presentation at last year's FAIR Conference. Now, though, it seems that Will has established a kind of correspondence relationship with--of all people--Droopy. I guess this makes an odd kind of sense, since Droopy has also displayed a penchant for misogyny. Still, you have to wonder about this. Droopy is essentially persona non grata among the "respectable" apologists. So why would Will be reaching out to him in this way? Did Loran privately kiss Will's heinie in the hopes of getting his foot in the door?

What say you, Droopy? Is Will schooling you in the ways of Mopologetics and creative Book of Abraham defenses?

I think it's more likely that Droopy simply remembered an old post by Schryver and decided himself that it seemed appropriate for the occasion. I'm betting that Schryver had no idea that Droopy was going to quote Schryver at the time that Droopy did so.

It's kind of telling that the two sole members of the Will fan club are the dullest knives in a drawer chock-full of dull knives. And neither is playing with a full deck.

I anticipated this response (or one like it), and so it comes as no shock or surprise. Will asked me via e-mail to post what he had written, as he refuses to participate here any longer. This response, more than anything, makes me question, yet again, why I participate here any longer.

Sounds like Will doesn't understand what "not participating" means.

That's what I was thinking! Not only is Will reading, but he's indeed participating as well; he's just undergoing an additional and unnecessary step in order to post.

Huh? You're threatening to flee the board merely because some questions were raised about your correspondence with Will Schryver? In any case: what's the deal with Will emailing you? Did you guys hang out together at last year's FAIR Conference?

Well, Droop. Everytime you say you are going to stop posting here you always come back. Every single time. You've never kept your word in this regard. You're just not a man of your word.
