No kidding. The guy has a TBM mom who would probably disagree with Rambo's mom on the notion of whether mom's should work out of hte home and whether one's that do are looked down upon or mistreated. And he also thinks most LDS wouldn't make a huge fuss if some dude showed up to church with an earring in his ear. No LDS would have a mom like that, and no LDS would think it non-fuss worthy for a guy to wear an earring.

Whatever. I appreciate your perspective, but this is just silliness. I fear you all have a fairly inconsistent and goofy view of LDS in general.

It occurs to me that one reason you think people misinterpret you is that you don't really know what the words you're using actually mean. They interpret your words accurately, but because you don’t realize what you actually said, you chalk it up to a problem of theirs.

For instance, I've never once seen you use the word "whine" properly. You probably consider this post whining, for instance.

I live in a pretty liberal ward. We have a guy (middle-aged guy) with an earring, and no one makes the fuss. But they would have in all the other wards I've been in. People would look at you funny for wearing a blue shirt. Not in this ward though, which is nice.

I'm not sure you understand the meaning of the word "validate" in this context.

When you tell someone that their reaction is an OVERREACTION you are saying that it is beyond the emotion warranted for the situation.

Do you believe her reaction was unwarranted?

I told you already, that while I see that she seemed to have over-reacted I do not in any way assume to know whether the pain she feels over the issue, unrelated to the topic raised by the HT, which is why I saw it as over-reacting, is valid or not. I'm not playing that game, Just me. I don't think you intended to twist it, or make it appear I'm saying something other than I did say or intended. I don't take it personally. I just think you over-reacted to my comments, have chosen to view them in a less charitable way for whatever reason, and decided to take it in a direction I never intended. I truly think you sincerely have misread me and are continuing to push it. I don't want to go along anymore less my words, unintentionally, get turned into something they never were.

Yes, of course you do not want to clarify. You are not really here to learn and understand other viewpoints. You are only here to show us how we are overreacting to everything. You seem to desire a one-way street. This could all be over if you would deign to clarify, but you refuse.

I know you say you are not going to talk about it anymore, but if I might be so bold as to ask one more question.

What does the word "overreact" mean to you? Because you claim that everyone is doing it....but you.

This isn't a game. Never was, never will be. This is how people try to have a meaningful converstation and gain deeper understanding of the other party.

No idea. Never anything visible though - no presidencies. So yeah, he's still blocked from leadership roles, but at least he isn't gossiped about.

wow what an over reaction. Calm down dude.

I really think you miss read my post. I didn't say people would be making a huge fuss. I said there would be some talking behind the back if suddenly one of the Elders got an earing. I also said that some of the leaders would ask this person to take it out.
