Based on the number of people who are members of the LDS church vs the number of people in American society, the LDS church is little different from the Baptists, the Methodists, the Catholics, the Jews, or any other religion.. .or anyone else even if they aren't religious. Your so-called family values are society's values, and not religious based. The LDS church is not the arbitrators of what is a "family value" in American society. As in everything else, they just follow where society leads, usually about half a generation behind.

It wasn't that long ago that Mormon family values meant having multiple wives and a plethora of children. Now Mormon's are repulsed by those exact same family values when practiced today by polygamous offshoots of Mormonism.

Show us, why me, what the LDS Church uniquely teaches it takes to be a good parent.
I'm after official teachings about parenthood skills that cannot be found in other organizations.

Mormons are doing quite well in raising their children in a healthy environment. They are also well respected for good family values. No one can fault the church on its family values.

Whether they can be found in other organizations is not the point. Most people belong to no organization at all. And teens are not exactly doing well these days and so, something is wrong. The LDS church has made people good parents, both LDS and exlds.

Well, it's Nordic at any rate.

Hello,

I'm sorry, but what "LDS family values" are you talking about that others are lacking?

Somebody is lacking family values. At least according to the above.

Finland is a part of scandinavia. True, the language has no relationship to Danish, Swedish and Norweigian but...the Finns would be pissed off to be told by a Norweigian that they are not part of Scandinavia.

Once again, why me doesn't know anything about the region. Scandinavian countries are limited to those countries who are located on (or once were) on the SCANDINAVIAN peninsula. Norway, Sweden, Denmark. That's it. Finnland and Iceland are NOT Scandinavian. They are, however part of the larger Norden, or North, and are thus Nordic, but not Scandinavian. Finns (excluding Swedo-Finns) do not even include themselves as part of us.

I don't have any oil money.

Hey why me,

Perhaps (maybe) one should consider extending the credit to the very Mom and/or Dad for being "good parents" (No matter if they happen to be LDS, Muslim, Atheist, Democrat, or sit on the board of The American Proctology Center)

Just my take :)

Peace,

I think that Norway also needs some old fashioned LDS family values also, and if more norwegians would live the word of wisdom, Norway would be a healthier place to live but a nice place to raise children.
