How hardly can bcspace say that the Hypocephalus was properly restored by the (pretended) seer and his buddies. It's impossible. He cannot do that, worlds without end.
After 22 years of reign, Hatshepsut died and her stepson, Tuthmosis III, finally gained the throne that had been rightfully his for decades. Tuthmosis resented his long wait for power and was determined to make Hatshepsut pay. He wanted to wipe her from history so that Egyptians would forget that she had ever ruled.
In a massive operation, he ordered that her name and image be removed from every part of Egypt. He was so successful that Hatshepsut was totally erased from Egyptian history until 1903, when British archaeologist Howard Carter found her tomb and her story was rediscovered for the first time in 3,500 years.
But one did not have to wait for a PBS special. This type of thing is common throughout Egyptian history and commonly known even among amateur Egyptologists. So yes indeed, meanings and stories about history under Egyptian influence could have been changed, even in the Book of Abraham case. Why would the Egyptian ruling class at the time of Abraham want a major defeat of their religion to be a historical fact?
So, bcspace, do you think Facs 2 has been correctly restored by JSJr to its original image, upside down hieratics added to what had remained intact only bearing upright hieroglyphics?

How is it impossible given the possibilities?
Please elaborate. And the possibilities are...
.......... Also--I'm re-posting for your follow-up on an earlier dialogue in this thread:
Morley wrote:You also have to shorten the history of Greece and Egypt to fit in with a literal Garden of Eden, don't you?
bcspace wrote:Why would I have to?
Morley wrote:Maybe you don't. If you place the Flood at 3000 BCE, you certainly do.
That post Abrahamic Egyptians see the facsimile as telling a different tale because the original is embarrasing to their rulers and religion. But I've already elaboarted on that.

And what about the phallus of the Holy Ghost? Is that the iron rod of God? Had Joseph Smith knew how to restore the Hypocephalas he wouldn't have omitted the serpent's phallus and multilated the poor god. Joseph Smith not only left off the phallus but he called another god a slave in one of the other Facsimiles. What kind of possibility is that? Joseph Smith's Egyptology stinks to high heaven and is dead wrong. He blasphemed the Egyptian religion and mocked sacred things for his own glory and in effort to advance his credibility as a translator. But we see through modern science (true restoration) that Joseph Smith was a liar.

I believe the correct interpretation from the orginal has been restored.

Meaningless since we may not have the original.
I doubt very much that Egyptologist John Gee or any other Egyptologist for that matter would agree with bcspace that the correct interpretation from the original was restored correctly. The Mormon version of the original Hypocephalus is corrupt. It is blasphemy.
I'm sure that the original Egyptian scribe didn't write his characters upside down as did Joseph Smith. The difference is the Egyptian scribe was qualified to read and write Egyptian but Joseph wasn't qualified to explain one character, not even in a wild wild west setting with magic rocks.
