The central teaching of Mormonism is that the church is true. The doctrine is masturbatory.

I suppose that's about as much as can be expected from you. I do enjoy how you tone it down a notch or two with each succeeding reply to me. Maybe if we keep it up your hostility will turn to adoration. Keep 'em coming. We'll see where we end up.
Love ya tons, Stem
I ain't nuttin'. don't get all worked up on account of me.
I am reminded again how true this is. Mormons will throw anything and everything under the bus, in the service of defending the church. They'll throw God and Jesus and every general authority under the bus within arm's reach, when necessary. So long as the church is defended. But only as a last resort will the ever throw Joseph under the bus. They're happy to throw God under first.
This is the LDS hierarchy of worship, in order of importance, going by reluctance to discard or otherwise throw under the bus in defense of the institution.
Church Joseph Smith God Jesus
Any other prophet they will defend when it's easy to defend them, but will toss on the woodpile when backed into a corner.

I mean they kind of do, in the same sort of way Catholics kind of worship Mary. But not really. No, what Mormons really worship is their church. The most important teachings of the LDS church all center on the church itself, and how true it is, and how essential it is, and how great it is. Our lives center around the church. Everything we do is to further the goals of the church.
So get down on your knees, my fellow Mormons, and praise the Corporation of the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
We don't pray to Joseph Smith or the Church so no, we don't worship either in any real sense.

Just like you don't worship Jesus, because you don't pray to him.
Worship doesn't need to involve prayer. You guys make it very clear what you worship by what you're most protective of.

I agree. The whole (the Church) is regarded as greater than the sum of its parts (god, Jesus, members, etc.). That's why it's so ironic that bcspace isn't a raving socialist.
BC, you worship the Lord Jesus Christ. Partaking of the sacrament, even unworthily, is worship. Doing all things in his name is worship, even praying. You rejoice in Christ and that is worship. He is God from all eternity to all eternity. He is NOT your elder brother who just happened to be picked out for Savior. He was the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world. Jesus Christ commanded the light and brought you forth into the organization of intelligence in the proto-pre-existence. He (Jesus) is your Eternal Father. (As the Book of Mormon teaches, even though LDS light-hearts cannot understand it) As are the Father and the Holy Ghost. One God infinite and eternal. To worship one is to worship them all. don't be silly.
Exaltation is NOT the same as God is. God has always been God. No eternal progression about it.
