to the op....my whole reason for being here is to mock ignorant LDS "defenders"(???) like stem, loran, sb, Walmart, etc...I am part of the conspiracy....

I came here because, after being involved in a few Mormon boards over the years, I was very interested in learning/seeing how the thoughts/beliefs/perspectives of people can/do drastically change along their journey of going from devout Mormon to whatever they are currently (struggling Mormon, non-Mormon, athiest, agnostic, Christian, etc).

I can understand why someone would leave the LDS Church and become an atheist or an agnostic (or even perhaps a Hindu or Buddhist), but it really boggles my mind to hear about people who leave the LDS Church for Biblical Christianity. How can the LDS Church be not inspired by God but Biblical Christianity be inspired by God?

Actually, I should qualify that; Thews is Christian, and I don't have a major problem with what he believes. But I'm talking about that group of people who typically call themselves orthodox.

But I can only venture a guess as to why a believer would come here. I know why I would have come to a board like this back in my believing days (engage in vigorous debates with the goal of proving my opponents wrong). So... Why do you believers come here?

I may have already answered this in my blog, but I came here because my calling in the LDS Church is a ward missionary, and it looked to me like reading posts and making posts is a great way to get an interchange of ideas, that could lead to people understanding how some Latter-day Saints think.
