The Kirtland Temple, by the way is HUGE and it's right next to the highway...

I was traveling through Ohio with a friend in the 80's and as we whizzed by it, I yelled "stop the car!" as I had some weird deja vu about something. When I looked at it, I instantly knew what it was despite the freakiness of it being just right out there next to the road.

I've wanted to go back because the interior is really beautiful and interesting. If you are interested, Ceeboo, you should listen to the Kirtland Era episode of John Larson's Mormon Expression because the discussion of the temple is fascinating.

Yeah, if I posted the insides of those temples, my post would get bumped down to the telestial...

The body really is a temple, for some:

I can't make up my mind if I like the architecture of the Atlanta temple or hate it:

And this just really creeps me out:

Wow, I really could have done without being reminded of that. But the truth, Everybody Wang Chung, should be dealt with rather than avoided. So thank you, Everybody Wang Chung, for that reminder.

Apart from the initiatory and endowment ceremonies, past and present, what's the funkiest thing that has happened in an LDS temple?

I remember that ~1879 there was a weird birthday party for the then prophet in the St George temple.

In the Kirtland, JSJr got the 'priesthood' inebriated with wine on empty stomachs (after 'fasting'), and then JSJr claimed all sorts of heavenly visitors were in the room.

Anything else?
