Kerry should have added the inane edits of the original...

Hi, Blixa. I am familiar with the Cain ad that is 'parodied'. It is strange, no doubt. Shirts' 'parody' goes beyond parody, however, and achieves a wierdness in its own right.

LOL, well, I suppose that's what I enjoyed about it. I'm all for the weird.

It's good to see that Mr. Shirts is back in top filmmaking form. It seems here that he's trying to outdo the tour de force performances of some of his past collaborators, such as Wade "Bobby Peru" Englund. I had been worried about Kerry a bit after he was (apparently) banned from filming at the most recent FAIR Conference. (You'll notice that he's been almost entirely absent from the MDD board as of late, and a perusal of his YouTube channels shows that he retreated into a rather sad world of instructional chess videos.) Here, though, we see once again some of that old Shirtsean brilliance. And for what it's worth, I think he should title this Waters-esque video, "The Mork of Cain."

I just like the smoking at the end. Stick it to the man, so to speak.

This thread is starting to sound to me like a bit of NIMBY-pamby-ism.

Why, none at all.

None whatsoever.

Both videos (the real ad and the parody) are fine examples of how the far right deals directly with the critical issues that confront our country. Both are perfectly reflective of the general level of Teabagger / Republican Party understanding of these issues and their considered approach to handling them.

Well done, I say. Well done indeed.

How much were you expecting in 1 minute? Do you have an example of a 1 min liberal ad to which we can compare?

Are you kidding?

Nothing any liberal does in the media could compare to either of those two ads - nothing.

Really.

Shirts really needs to be a fixture in the Mormon Apologetic community, he’s one of the few people in that group who really lets his humanity shine through his work. Anyone who willingly acts like a goof on camera, and uploads it on Youtube for the entire world to enjoy is the kind of person you want to be involved with.

It is because Shirts’ recognizes his own finitude and quirky nature, it’s immediately obvious he has the fantastic trait of not taking himself too seriously. Instead of being seen as pedantic, he’s charming. Instead of being seen as a crank, he’s seen as a next door neighbor.

MD&D could take a lesson from this guy, but they won’t.

If it is, it is a good thing he was making a parody of Cain and not Bachmann.

Oh, I'm quite sure there is. Just thought you might be willing to offer up your own. I should have known better.
