I'm 65% of the way through the book. Runtu is an excellent writer. The book is thoroughly engrossing. An honest, open, funny, insightful, at times heartwrenching account of his two years of church service as a missionary in Bolivia in the mid-1980s. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Mormonism (which, I suppose, is everyone on this board) whether TBM, NON, post-mo, ex-mo, nevermo, chapel Mo, Internet Mo, ho-mo, hey, mo, hey mo, whatever mo.

Congrats Runtu. Am working on an epic sci fi or fantasy adventure myself. If only I could come up with an actual idea that I don't feel has been done before. Perhaps I am too well read in these genres.

Turn it into a religion and you are home free - and then it doesn't matter how derivative it is!

I'll be watching for when it becomes available in some other format. I know a lot of people who would love it, as well, but nobody here has those electronic books.

So John, if you're still reading this board, and if it's possible, send me a private so I can paypal you some dough for some other sort of electronic copy.

You can order it on the Nook app as well.

I've only read the preview on Amazon so far, but yes... exactly what Equality said.

You can go over to the Kindle support site and there is a list of Free Kindle Reading Apps.

If you have a PC, a Mac, or a cell phone, you can read the book on those.

You can also read it on their cloud site. The apps are free.

I don't have a Kindle, but I used the free app to download Runtu's book to my computer, and read it that way. An excellent book! I strongly recommend it. I never thought that a book about everyday missionary life could be so engrossing, but this book is.

Thanks for the tips.

I'm probably the youngest of you all but yet the least savvy on tech trends.

I loved Shades' journals and notes. I'll probably love this more because of the connections to South America/Bolivia.

I can't say enough good about runtu's book. The descriptions of Bolivia are extraordinary. The stories of missionary life are compassionate and moving. The book is, of course, interesting for its perspective on Mormonism/Missionary culture, but I think it's also much more than that.
