If the Holy Ghost didn't inspire his appointment then how can any decision by a SP be trusted as inspired?

Even Jesus called Judas......

None of this has any bearing on whether or not the calling was inspired. To assume that such a calling must be free of problems is an acceptance of predestination which is a false doctrine that denies agency.

Your God is a bit of a gambler.

He knows a persons character and yet still determines to put this man in a position of power to access those he is inappropriately attracted to, on the off chance that he will choose not to act.

Sadly your God uses other people's lives as His stake in His personal game of Mormon roulette.
