why me wrote:That is what many people miss. Now of course, some head to other faiths but even then, there is always this question mark about the LDS church: What if it is true?
That's largely a fantasy held be people who continue to believe. "If I ever left, I'd always wonder if it was true." But if you leave for intellectual reasons, that's just not the case. It'd be like wondering if there really was an Easter Bunny.

Re: Anybody miss church here?
Your question made me think of Cypher in the Matrix missing steak. The things I miss are mostly a feeling of community and uniqueness and strangely the surety of having all the answers. I don't miss the institution a bit.
Since I live in Utah I often see people dressed up and hustling to make it to church and I feel slightly guilty because I'm so happy I don't have to deal with all the BS anymore.

Again, I wonder if there is really any harm in that? (If so, how much harm could there be?
Peace,

This question is worth considering. Let's say I change from a belief in Jesus to one in Vishnu and I go to a Mormon ward with my family.
Let's also assume Vishnu communicates with me through my heart and soul the same way Jesus does with my fellow ward members. Let's say Vishnu wants me to express my deep regard for him as my protector and savior. How, pray, would I go about expressing these feelings in Fast and Testimony meeting?
What involvement would I be allowed in the ward once the bishop found my allegiance lies with Vishnu? Scout master? How would I participate with any significance in Sunday school? How would I feel like a piece of the puzzle or part of a community?

It would cause as much harm as going to a movie or a play causes. The harm comes if you actually believe the show is real life and what you think it's telling you to do.
