Only had like 3 talks with the bishop, one of which was when my father and I were going to get permission to go to a temple dedication. He was a pretty laid back and cool guy though so it doesn't surprise me that he never asked me at 13.

Oh, he wanted to....they all want to talk about masturbation :)

All the bishops I had in my youth asked me whenever I had a worthiness interview, which was fairly often because of new priesthood ranks and temple trips. I seem to remember the question being worded something like "Do you have a masturbation problem?" It left a gray area for me to say "no" if I had gone a few days without masturbating.

If you didn't want to go on a mission you answered that question with "Your mom is a tiger in bed, does that count?"

Hell yeah, I got asked about masturbation. All my priesthood leaders were all over that one. All of them wanted to know if I touch myself. I did what a lot of other Mormon young people do, I lied. Mormonism taught me to lie right to the face of another person. I became proficient at it. The reason I learned to lie, because of the one time I told the truth.
I'm the apostate your bishop warned you about.

I lied forever about it. After my mission I told the truth a couple of times about it and that never did any good.

I felt like I was repenting of it but then I would mess up and do it again. I kept beating myself over it and I was so sad I couldn't stop doing it.

It's the self inflicted guilt the church puts on people that I hate so much.

My cousin doesn't feel worthy to date this girl he likes because he masturbates. He said he doesn't want to trick her into thinking he is this good worthy priesthood holder. I said to him oh don't worry about it and date her. All the other "worthy" priesthood holders masturbate too.

That's the problem. You were supposed to stop beating yourself:)
