In what sense is it "deceptive"? I clearly attributed the quote to "Wheat"/Schryver, and I indicated the date it was posted.

stem
To spin it as though this is a negative to Peterson is just silly. He takes exception to be presented by someone as having violent desires for others.

I'm going to say this just one time, stem.

The assault rifle remarks originated with Peterson.

Well, I didn't actually say it, I typed it.

Don't let the facts get in the way of stem saying stupid crap. He certainly doesn't.

Are you saying that Peterson's original remark was not a joke? Do you really think he intended to use an assault rifle on anyone here?

You guys....such lengths you go to.

Hey there, Scratch, why did you choose this quote from years ago as a sig line? Is it because it mentioned Peterson and painted him as one who advocates violence against people he disagrees with?

Stem, this is the actual quote:

Scratch's sig wrote:"Daniel Peterson and I have been cleaning our assault rifles and loading special rounds for several days now. Just waiting for the word …"---"Wheat", a.k.a. Will Schryver - MDB, 9/8/08

In my view, this quote makes Will look bad. He is the one that appears unbalanced. Even though the original assault rifle comment started with Dan, it was obviously a joke...maybe a joke in poor taste, but a joke, nonetheless.

For Will to come out with this type of comment, basically promoting himself as a modern day Danite, is really rather creepy.

I can't speak for Scratch, but I'm pretty sure that his sig was posted as a dig at Will, more than a dig at DCP.

You can read it however you like. I'm merely suggesting I can see why Peterson has taken issue with Scratch's use of it--particulary having some idea of how Scratch has been after Peterson for so long.

Since it's a joke, why would Peterson object to the joke being perpetuated in a sig line, quoting Will?
