Yep, a once in a generation talent. It's a shame that so many brilliant artists burn out so fast. I wonder if there is is a relationship between genius and self destruction.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I agree that it is a tough question. I had some hard feelings toward Murray during all of this. Now that he has been convicted, I'm starting to feel just a little sorry for him (I'm an old softy). I'm not sure what value prison time would serve.

He was a bad doctor and a jerk for what he did. He certainly knew better. His loss of the ability to practice medicine is certainly deserved and to the best interests of the population, in general.

If he is given some sort of probation, that would prevent him from moving outside of the US for some years.

I don't know what different country's laws are concerning this, so I don't know if he would be allowed to practice medicine anywhere else.

I think it is a safe bet that the Jackson family will file some sort of civil suit. My guess is that he has already exhausted any assets he had paying for his defense. Can't get blood from a stone.

If I were the Jackson family, I would bring suit against him on principle. Whatever else one may think of Michael Jackson, and I am obviously a sympathizer, he was without a doubt, a creative genius.

More than that, he was a son, a brother, and father to three children.

Did Michael Jackson screw up? Yes. Undeniably so. He went doctor shopping for a doc who would administer propofol in his home and on his tour, and by God, he found one.

That said, there is no excuse for Murray's abject and criminal negligence of Jackson. He left him alone (likely on a propofol drip) in a room full of drugs, with a pulse oximiter that had no alarm and then he lied. He lied to paramedics, to UCLA Medical Center, and he lied to the police. He kept no medical records, no documentation, no medications log, and waited for nearly 30 minutes (while he instructed a security guard to bag up evidence) to do what even a three year old knows to do in an emergency, call 911.

The man crossed the line from physician to drug pusher, he traded his Hippocratic oath for 150K per month. Yes, I would sue him civilly on principle alone.

I think it may have something to do with living a life in virtual isolation and being trapped by one's own celebrity. I think it just messes with a person's head. There are people who say he was the greatest just like Elvis. Like Elvis? Like hell. I am also an Elvis fan, having grown up listening to his early music and quite frankly, preferring his early music.

Michael Jackson so far surpassed anything that Elvis ever was or hoped to be. Jackson was a creative genius.

You may have already seen this, but I want to show it to whomever might be reading here. I don't know if there is sound on this video, just turn the sound off and watch this 33 second video.

Just watch.

I don't know why Michael Jackson didn't hire a personal trainer (yes, I know he was practicing with Ferrigno), a nutritionist, massage therapist and perhaps some sort of sleep specialist who might help him along in more appropriate ways.

I really wish that he had.

Dr. Conrad Murray will be sentenced tomorrow. Here's a brief article:

For some reason I think he'll get the max.
