Have the Mo'pologists seen the latest from LDS PR??

Surely the rabid mo'pologists will bite down on the geographic ambiguity of the term "American continent".

However, go ask any garden variety Mormon where the "American continent" is and chances are they will say right here in the US of A.

Also ask where is this "promised land"? Most will again answer, the US OF A.

"What we know as the American Continent, where they created a civilization... Orly?

This is perpetuated by teachers of the soft pliable minds of the Mormon member spawn; perhaps unwittingly.

I'd love to sit down and ask this unwitting bishop very specific questions about the geography and this civilization. I'd bet his answers would be almost 100% chapel Mormon.

He appears to be low hanging fruit from my viewpoint and desire to share the actual truth about Mormonism with him.

I tried to post this comment on the youtube but it is pending approval. I don't expect them to approve it.

"The Book of Mormon disparagingly misrepresents American Indians, claiming their ancestors were degenerates that had turned wicked and fell from a civilized condition and became an idle, loathsome, dark, filthy and idolatrous people. It is a repulsive pseudohistory and is culturally destructive for the American Indian to accept a fictional history of their ancestors in order to join the Mormon church. Non-Indians accept these degrading stereotypes by praying to know if it is true. That is nauseating."

Tapirrider,

I think your point is now less of an issue than it was before:

Initially the literal ancestors of the Native Americans were an idle, loathsome, dark, filthy and idolatrous people.

Then it was just the principle ancestors of the Native Americans who were an idle, loathsome, dark, filthy and idolatrous people.

Now its only a few people who were among the ancestors of the Native Americans who were idle, loathsome, dark, filthy and idolatrous.

At some point, with the progress of genetic science, the ancestors of the Native Americans will only have been acquainted with the idle, loathsome, dark, filthy and idolatrous people whose story is contained within the Book of Mormon.

Drifting, I know what you are saying, but the Mormons have a problem now. D&C 28 has God commanding Oliver Cowdery to take the Book of Mormon to the Lamanites. They did, they took it to the American Indians from New York to Kansas. The principle ancestors or among the ancestors can't erase the Doctrine and Covenants.

I also noticed in the video that the bishop said "Mormon was one of the last descendants of this people." I heard that and thought "what"? What are they teaching people now?

Another problem the church has by playing with limited lamanites is the rest of the people came from Asia before Adam and Eve. Seems the prophet today should get a revelation about pre-Adamites if they want to go that route.

I agree, the Church is on a slippery slope with regards to the historicity of the Book of Mormon. At some point they will need to adopt the position that it is inspired fiction, in my opinion sooner rather than later.

For now it seems that they continue to twist the words of their past Prophets to try and make it fit somehow within the confines of scientific fact. They would be better off just taking a position of - it's true regardless of what science shows.

Doubt it. The standard generic drawing in the manuals looks like north and south America.
