I preserve the abundance of my garden, and enjoy it throughout the winter. I see no reason to apologize for that. My pantry and my freezer are both full of food, another thing for which I don't apologize. Should my neighbors need food in an emergency, I'd do my best by them, as would most of my neighbors, both member and not.

I personally think being prepared and having a garden is a good thing, I am just surprised that the year supply of food has not been majorly emphasized in GC since 2004. The major economic downturn began in early 2008 and continues today. If they had been emphasizing it more prior to the unemployment and housing mess, many would have had at least food and the church would have had a whole lot of I told you so's. But they missed the opportunity and now it appears that they can't bring up the year supply of food suggestion again because they missed the best opportunity to do so.

Sadly this is a consistent trait of God's only true spokespeople on Earth today...
