Another New Message Board?
So, all this recent talk about message boards, private boards, and invite-only boards has caused me to think (Imagine that).
I am considering creating my very own new board.
Looking for advice, suggestions, and/or ideas.
What say you?
Thanks and Peace,
Ceeboo

Create a board to discuss star-trek erotic fan fiction. OR - Maybe you should do something furry AND Star Trek related, there don't seem to be enough furry sites out there....

Be very clear in what your purpose would be for such a board. Identify why you would want it, rather than just continuing to participate on existing boards. Draft (and then re-write at least three times) rules to effect your purposes. You might begin with a copy of the rules of the existing board you think will differ the least from your new board. Run the rules by a couple of sets of critical eyes with whom you've shared your purposes and aims for your new board. Don't make rules you would not be serious about enforcing. You might also want to look around on the net for what potential liability you, as the board host, might have for slanderous statements posters might make, and posters perhaps posting information that would perhaps (unknowingly to you) be in violation of some third party's intellectual property rights.

I'd do something like this one, but with moderate moderation. Not like the MAD Gestapo, but not like an Ayn Rand libertarian utopia either.

Re: Another New Message Board?
Thinking out loud:
I need a name for the new board?
How will I get people interested in joining?
Grammer (Do I need to ask Shades to partner up with me?)
How do I compete with the other boards already available?
Possible income (Can I charge people on a per post basis?)
Lurkers? Do I want them lurking?
Post count numbers? (Gotta get Stem on board)
Thinking????????

Since the apologists have been trying to sound more like critics recently in appropriating terms like "Mormon Discussion" and "Mormon Studies," I'd say call your board Mormon Apologetics & Discussion Board.
