Obamacare: Increases costs and destroys insurance

Post by _bcspace »

Just as I (and many others) predicted.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obamacare-s-passage-millions-have-lost-employer-sponsored-health-insurance_607994.html

So in addition to costing about $2.5 trillion over its real first decade (2014 to 2023), looting nearly $1 trillion from Medicare over that time (according to the CBO), forcing Americans to buy government-approved health insurance under penalty of law, and amassing unprecedented power and money in Washington at the expense of Americans’ liberty — if Obamacare stays on the books, you may like your health care plan, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you can keep your health care plan.

It’s time to repeal Obamacare.

Obama and his cronies lied (no suprise). The plan all along was NEVER to reduce costs, it was to force increased coverage, gut Medicare, and increase costs in order to move everyone to the government plan.

Thus sayeth the Right Wing media. Stop being an idiot and get informed beyond the usual outlets. "Obamacare" was never set in place. We got a stripped version of what he wanted. All the mechanisms he had set to reduce costs were rejected by the Right Wing pimps in congress. Health Care costs have always been on the rise, but to blame the recent annual rise on anything Obama has done, is just plain idiotic. Employers rejecting health care benefits to their employees is hardly Obama's fault either. I mean, what is the reasoning here? Correlation = causation? Makes no sense. You have to actually make an argument based on evidence beyond, "X happened when Obama was President, therefore Obama made it happen!" If anything, this is just evidence of a failing system that relies on corporations to take care of people. They realize more and more that they don't have to, so they try to cut costs, even though they are experiencing record profits. It is all about capitalistic greed in the end. The anti-Christian system.

The "Right Wing pimps" in Congress had Nothing to do with the Passing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), also known as 'ObamaCare' by the filibuster-free Democratic Senate and by a heavily Democratic controlled Congress.
Kevin Graham wrote back in November of 2008 here:

Incidentally, there is a big turn of events going on here in Atlanta. Chambliss and Martin are having a run off and with a Martin win, the democrats could enjoy a filibuster-free congress! Imagine that. I want there to be as many democrats in congress as possible, so in four years they won't be able to blame republicans for the state of the union. They won't be able to say the reason they didn't get things done was because the republicans put up road blocks.

The Democrats did indeed have filibuster-free Senate from Sept. 25, 2009 until Feb 3, 2010. During that time, the Senate Passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), also known as 'ObamaCare' by Party line vote. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) ended up Passing the heavily Democratic controlled House of Representatives in March of 2010, and then President Barack Obama ended up signing that bill into law. All 178 Republicans within the House of Representatives voted No on the 'ObamaCare' bill, along with 32 Democrats within the House of Representatives back then. Even with 32 Democrats voting No on the 'ObamaCare' bill with all of the Republicans within the House of Representatives, the bill was still able to Pass because of how heavily the Democratic Party controlled the House of Representatives during the 111th Congress.
