for what it's worth, I don't think Everybody Wang Chung is objecting to your objections about the content of the alleged PM per se. Rather, he's complaining that, as an MDB moderator who is arguably expected to respect the "private" nature of PMs on MDB, you nonetheless provided a forum for this material to be hashed out on The Cafeteria. In other words, his complaint--if I'm understanding him correctly--has to do with the way he feels you handled ostensibly "private" MDB material.

To a certain extent, I think he's got a point. You had a thread over there, started by Ray A, that contained a screen shot of an MDB poster's PM. As an MDB moderator, I kind of think you should have deleted that. I get, too, that you felt it was different in the case of the Everybody Wang Chung PM because of (a) the nature of the alleged PM, and (b) because Ray had already posted it and you therefore felt it was "public" (though then again, it was only "public" to those people who saw it before Shades deleted it).

But, of course, at this juncture it's kind of a moot point.

Dream Team Liz banned me for posting a PM she sent me (a really nasty, nasty PM).

Is she going to ban herself for encouraging the posting of a PM on her forum?

If you went there---and from what I remember of the pm that Ray posted here---you did, I'm not surprised liz commented on it. Maybe you just meant it as a heat of the moment tit for tat kind of thing, but, even without the back history (see my post upthread) surely you should have known better than to sling that crap.

So yeah, liz gave her opinion on that. Maybe not knowing the little history of recent pm's between you and Ray, but in full knowledge of the bigger history of s*** lobbed at Ray about his children.

Anyway you slice it, none of this has any bearing on liz as a moderator at MDB.

Still trying to defend Liz's board are we? Look MAD and MD are in full public view so cross postings and postings here commenting on what people said on the other board is fair. It's all out in the open. It should have been obvious to Liz..that there would be gripes by anyone on this board finding out that people on her board discuss people here, taking swipes at them, posting contents of pm's or paraphrasing them (as what happened with EBWC that you are trying to defend in favor of that board. In my view, there is no defense for it..not on here anyhow. It got exposed, she's taken it down. Had she specified that no one could talk derogatorily about people here and what goes on in pm's...because that not a fair thing to do when people here don't have an option to respond, defend or even see what's been said...there would likely have been no problem. Perhaps it truly would have been a NOM board for social purposes and work out personal issues.

Does it have a bearing on Liz as a moderator? sure to some extent it does..not that I think it warrants concluding she's a terrible moderator here. What she set up was essentially what goes on in pm's anyhow..it's just that it got exposed. Sure Scratch would have liked her to continue operating in private so that he could see what some people discuss when they think it's private. Her intentions may have been good but she was naïve..as Scratch said.

I'm not going to read through this thread at all. I don't even know what happened, but I'm sorry Liz's board experiment died. She doesn't need any more grief or stress right now.

This thread should just die Runtu, but people keep trying to defend the indefensible and don't allow it to die. They want the last word in defense. They are in the wrong, they should let it go for pete's sake..if they aren't going to acknowledge wrong doing. EBW was willing to let it go and then Blixa pops in to tell him he's wrong. She should have let it go.
